Pumps Operation, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting

COURSE OBJECTIVE
Participants will learn about pumps & their specific applications in refineries & chemical plants. They will also become familiar with the construction,
operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of different types of pumps along with their common failure scenarios. Finally, they will learn about
the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities in the early engineering and construction phases.

PARTICIPANTS
The course is designed for Mechanical Operations/ Projects Engineers, Maintenance Engineers, and Reliability Engineers.

PREREQUISITES
B.Sc. in Engineering (Mechanical- Industrial-Marine)
Course participants should have a good background in mechanical engineering.

Day two:
 Principles of Centrifugal Pumps Engineering and Operation.
 Centrifugal Pump Main Components
 Mechanical Seals Operation and Maintenance
 Antifriction Bearings Operation and Maintenance
 Centrifugal Pump Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Day three:
 Centrifugal Pumps Series and Parallel Operation
 Centrifugal Pump Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Start-Up Activities
 Centrifugal Pump Testing and Inspection
 Case Studies

Day Four:
 Principles of Positive Displacement Pumps Engineering and Operation.
 Types of Positive Displacement Pumps.
 Positive Displacement Pumps Main Components
 Positive Displacement Pumps Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Day Five:
 Pumps general operation and maintenance practices in Oil and Gas industry.
 Codes and Standards
 Work safety procedures.

30 Hours: 5 days / 4 Hours per day
