computer.
Biometric Device:-Biometric Device is used for verifying or recognizing the identity of living
person with the help of fingerprints, facial images, iris(eye), voice recognition etc.
Hand Held Scanner:-Hand Held Scanner is used by holding in the hand and moving on the
objects to capture images etc.
Flat Bed Scanner:-Flat Bed scanner has a flat glass surface used to capture images from book or
other object for scanning purpose.
QR(Quick Response) Code reader is used to read QR codes for retrieving the information
embedded in the code.
Digital Scanner:-Digital Scanner is a device used to detect changes in its environment and
reacts according to its nature or purpose for example motion, light, heat, smoke, voice sensors
etc.
Q: Describe Storage Devices?
Ans: Storage devices are used to store data permanently for future use?
Hard Disk Drive(HDD)which may be an Internal or external, acts as main storage device of the
computer. It is used to store and retrieve large amount of information like operating system,
program files etc.
Flash Drive:-Flash drive is a small external storage device that can hold user’s data and files.
These are mostly used to save and transfer data from one computer to another.
Optical storage:-Optical storage is used to read or write data with laser light eg. CD (compact
Disk), DVD(Digital Versatile Disk), Blu-ray disk etc.

Monitor or Display Screen:-The monitor or Display Screen is an output device that provides
visual display (soft copy) of the user’s interface with the computer. There are different types of
screen available like LCD(Liquid Crystal Display), LED (Light Emitting Diodes), SMD(Surface
Mounted Devices) etc.
Printer:-Printer is used to get hard copy of output like documents or photos, on paper etc. Different
examples of printer are inkjet printers, laser printers, 3D printers etc.
Speaker:- Speaker is used to listen the audio or sound from computer video games, video etc.
Multimedia Projector:-Multimedia Projector is used to project text, images, videos and audio
content as an output on the wall or screen.
Q: Describe Communication Devices?
Ans: Communication devices are used to communicate or exchange data over communication
media.
Network Switch:-Network switch is a network device that allows communication between
devices. It receives message from any device connected to the network and transmits to its
destination.
Router:-Router is a network hardware that forwards data from one network from another manages
best route controls traffic and keeps the network efficient within the local area.
Wi-fi Access Point(AP):- Wi-fi Access Point is a network device that connects to a wired router
and allows communication devices to transfer data wirelessly.
Bluetooth:-Bluetooth is a wireless technology for short range wireless interconnection of mobile
phones, computer, headphones, speaker, printers and other electronic devices.
DSL Modem:- DSL Modem is a device used to connect to a computer or router to a telephone
line which provides the digital subscriber line service for connectivity to the internet.
Li-Fi(Light Fidelity):-Li-Fi is a wireless communication technology that uses light for data
transmission at very high speed.

=>Eye strain is caused due to the use of ICT devices for long period of time or by flashing / rapidly
changing lights (Photo sensitive epileptic).
=> Excessive use of computer for playing violent video games may cause aggressive behavior in
students.
Q: What are the safety measures during Natural Disaster?
Ans: To keep us safe during a natural disaster; the following safety tips can prevent injuries:
=>Practice earthquake drills and exercises(stop, drop, and hold on)
=>Remain calm
=>Stand against wall near the center of building
=>Fire Drills(evacuation plans)
=>Students should know the sound of fire alarm and respond immediately
=>keep fire extinguisher in ICT labs
Q: Describe System Unit?
Ans: The system unit is the case that contains all the electronic components of a computer system
like mother board, power supply, RAM, CPU (microprocessor), Hard disk Drive, Optical Drive
etc.
Q:Define Motherboard?
Ans: A motherboard is one of the most essential part of the computer system. It holds together
many of the components of a computer, including the central processing unit(CPU), memory and
connectors for input and output devices.
Q: Define RAM(Random Access Memory)?
Ans: RAM is used to store data to be processed from CPU temporarily. The size of memory is
very important for the computer’s functionality and speed.
Q: Define CPU(Central Processing Unit)?
