HILLCREST SCHOOL UNITED NATIONS CELEBRATION DAY

“HEAL THE WORLD, MAKE IT A BETTER PLACE”

I. COLOURING ACTIVITY (PRESCHOOL DEPARTMENT)


a. The learners from the preschool department are expected to participate in
the said activity (Colouring Activity).
b. The parents/guardians and the teachers are invited to guide the learners in
the said activity.
c. The learners are to bring the colouring materials
d. The date of submission for the finished output is on October 14, 2022
(tentative)
II. FREEHAND DRAWING ACTIVITY (LOWER ELEMENTARY)
a. The learners from the lower elementary level (Grades 1 to 3) are expected to
participate in the said activity (freehand drawing).
b. The parents/guardian and the teachers are invited to guide their learners in
the said activity.
c. The topic for the freehand drawing category is: Heal the World, Make it a
better place”
d. The activity is aimed to allow the learners to express their thoughts and ideas
in about the aforementioned topic.
e. The learners are to use the following art materials:
- Oslo paper/long bond paper
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Colouring materials
f. The entries of the learners will be submitted to their respective class advisers
or to the subject teacher present in the classroom.
g. The date of submission for the finished output is on October 14, 2022
Learners who are to submit later than the designated date of submission will
no longer be accepted.

III. POSTER MAKING CONTEST (UPPER ELEMENTARY TO JUNIOR HIGH


SCHOOL)
a. Learners from the upper elementary level (Grades 4-6) up to the junior
high school are expected to participate in the said activity (Poster Making
Contest)
b. The learners are required to bring the following materials:
- Colouring materials
- Sketching materials (pencils, pens, markers etc.)
- Eraser
- ¼ illustration board
c. Each of the learners will create a poster following the theme: “Heal the
World, Make it a Better Place.”
d. The parents/guardians and teachers are invited to guide the learners for
the said activity. They are also expected to take a photo of the finished
output of their learners.
e. The entries are to be submitted to the class adviser or to the present
subject teacher.
f. The criteria for judging are as follows:
- Creativity
- Originality
- Clarity of the topic/theme
Each of the criteria will be given points according to the
following range:
5 pts – Excellent
4 pts – Good
3 pts – Average
2 pts - Poor
g. The date of submission of the said activity is on October 14, 2022
(tentative) from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
IV. SLOGAN MAKING (UPPER ELEMENTARY TO JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL)
a. Learners from the upper elementary level (Grades 4-6) up to the
junior high school are expected to participate in the said activity
(Slogan Making Contest)
b. The learners are required to bring the following materials:
- Colouring materials
- Sketching materials (pencils, pens, markers etc.)
- Eraser
- ¼ illustration board
c. Each of the learners will create a poster following the theme: “Heal
the World, Make it a Better Place.”
d. The criteria for judging are as follows:
- Creativity
- Originality
- Clarity of the topic/theme

e. The parents/guardians and teachers are invited to guide the learners


for the said activity. They are also expected to take a photo of the

teacher.
g. The date of submission of the said activity is on October 14, 2022
(tentative) from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
VII. SINGING CONTEST (PRE-SCHOOL TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL)
a. Learners from preschool up to the senior high school are expected to join
participate in the singing contest.
b. Learners are expected to sing in another language of their own choice.
c. The materials that the participants will need in the said activity are:
- Costume/outfit
- Audio (minus one)
- Instrument (if possible)
d. Entries are to be judged according to the following criteria:
- Vocal Quality
- Expression
- Showmanship
Each of the criteria will be given points according to the following
range:
5 pts – Excellent
4 pts – Good
3 pts – Average
2 pts – Poor
VII. QUIZ BEE (UPPER ELEMENTARY TO JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL)
a. All learners from Grade 4 to Grade 7 are expected to join the
activity.
b. The activity will be conducted during the Araling Panlipunan
subjects of each level.
c. The activity will be facilitated by the subject teacher for Araling
Panlipunan.
d. The activity will feature an elimination round for each of the
learners in each levels, followed by a quarter finals for the chosen
learners from the elimination round, and a finals round for the
two remaining learners who will win in the quarter finals. A
special round will be conducted for the third placement position
of the contest.
e. The learners are to bring the following on the activity:
- White board
- White board marker
- Eraser
f. The quiz bee will compose of 3 parts/rounds:
 Easy round
+ 10 questions with choices
+ 1 points for each correct answers.
 Average round
+ 5 questions with choices
+ 2 points each
 Difficult round
+ 5 questions with questions
+ 3 points each
 Tie breaker
+ 5 questions with choices
+ 1 points each
g. The questions will be read twice (2) by the teacher and the
learners will have 10 seconds to answer the questions. The
participant who will have the most number of points will win.
h. The activity will be held on October 12, 2022 during the Araling
Panlipunan class.
VIII. DRESS UP YOUR DOLL (PRESCHOOL TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL)
a. The learners from preschool to Grade 12 are expected to wear
costumes from different countries.
b. The activity will be held on October 17, 2022.
c. The said activity is aimed to showcase the culture from
different countries of the students’ choice through the
costume/s that the learners’ will wear during activity.
d. The teachers are also expected to participate alongside the
students during the activity.
IX. INTERNATIONAL CUISINE (SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL)
a. The learners from the senior high school are expected to
participate in the said activity.
b. The learners will have to showcase their skills in cooking a dish
from the country of their own choice.
c. The learners will have one dish to present.
d. The learners are expected to take a photo and record a video
of the process of preparing and cooking of their dish.
e. The learners are also to record a short narrative for the dish
that they have chosen, the narrative should contain the
following:
- Origin of the dish
- The process of how the dish was made
f. The videos are to be submitted to the class advisers/present
subject teachers.
g. The deadline of submission for the entries is on October 18,
2022

X. COMMON SONG (PRESCHOOL TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL)


a. The learners are expected to participate in the said activity.
b. The parents/guardians and teachers are expected to supervise
the learners in the said activity.
c. The parents/guardians and teachers will have to record a
video of their learners singing the common song.
d. The common song will be “Heal the World” by Michael
Jackson.
e. The videos will be submitted through a Google Drive link that
will be provided.
f. The videos of the learners are to be compiled and edited and
will be presented in a video presentation featuring the
common song.
