Twitter CEO - Elon Musk has finally taken over Twitter and fired top Executives

Who is Elon Musk and why is he Famous?

Elon Reeve Musk FRS is a business magnate and investor. He is the founder, CEO and chief engineer of
SpaceX; angel investor, CEO and product architect of Tesla, Inc.; founder of The Boring Company; co-
founder of Neuralink and OpenAI; president of Musk Foundation; and recently the owner of Twitter, Inc.

Elon Musk has achieved global fame as the chief executive (CEO) of electric autos maker Tesla Inc. (TSLA)
and CEO of the private space company SpaceX. Musk co-founded PayPal (PYPL), was an early investor in
several tech companies, and in October 2022 he completed a deal to take Twitter Inc. private.

Elon Musk was Born and raised in South Africa, Musk spent time in Canada before moving to the U.S.

Educated at the University of Pennsylvania in physics, Musk started getting his feet wet as a serial tech
entrepreneur with early successes like Zip2 and X.com, which merged with a company that became
PayPal.

Musk has behaved eccentrically from time to time. He has said he has Asperger's syndrome.

Elon Musk who is now officially the Twitter CEO has completed his $44 billion deal to buy Twitter, a
source familiar with the deal told CNN Thursday, putting the world’s richest man in charge of one of the
world’s most influential social media platforms.

First order of business was to fire CEO Parag Agrawal and two other executives same day and time.
Nevertheless, The fired executives were escorted out of Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters after the
deal closed.

Musk spent months attempting to get out of the deal by citing concerns about the number of bots on
the platform and later more allegations were raised by a company whistleblower.
Bear this in mind, it's a done deal as Musk appeared to acknowledge the takeover in a tweet on
Thursday night with a catch phrase....“the bird is freed.”

Musk paid a visit to the company’s San Francisco headquarters on Wednesday, Octoberf 26, 2022,
carrying a sink, and has said he is purchasing the company “to try to help humanity”.

However, there were confusions over the deal on Thursday, October 27, 2022, as neither Twitter nor
Musk immediately confirmed the firings. Musk, who had earlier changed his Twitter bio to “Chief Twit”,
tweeted about SpaceX but did not mention his new acquisition or the dismissals after the news broke.

The reported firings follow news that Musk planned to eliminate nearly 75% of Twitter’s staff in an effort
to pay down the company’s debt. Musk later dismissed those reports, telling employees he would not
cut such a large portion of the staff.

Remember that the $44billion purchase of the influential social media platform was first announced in
late April 2022 while the following months witnessed disagreements which threatened the sale and take
over.

The then-Twitter management filed a lawsuit accusing Musk of trying to go back on the terms of
agreement.

Musk and Twitter avoided a trial that was set to take place earlier this month. But Musk’s takeover, and
the immediate firing of some of Twitters top executives, now raises a lot of questions for the future of
Twitter, and her various beneficiaries.
