Corse Component 3 hours every week for 18 weeks/ 54 hours per semester
Course Description The course covers the review on laws on human rights, different forms of human rights violation, government
programs for the welfare of the victims, treatment models, and the developmental aspects of therapeutic modalities.

Learning Outcomes At the end of this course, the students should be able to:
Cognitive:
1. Explain Criminological Research on crimes, crime causation and models of therapies for criminals.
2. Analyze the concepts of Human rights and victim welfare.
Affective:
3. Ensure offender’s welfare and development through therapeutic modalities for their re-integration to the
community.
4. Describe competence and broad understanding in correctional therapeutic modalities promoting public safety and
criminal justice.
Psychomotor:
5. Engage in lifelong learning and devising therapeutic modalities for all types of person deprived of liberty.
6. Apply professional, social, and ethical standards in the practice correcting criminals.

Grading System Grading System (Sec. 10, Title 2 of Student Handbook 2019)

1. The grading system is the CARREON Method. There shall be two (2) grading periods in a regular
semester: Midterm, and Final periods. In each period, a weight of 50% for midterm and 50% for
final is given.
2. There shall be one (1) grading period in summer only final.
3. Grades for each period are based on the following:
Written Task 30%
Performance Task 40%
Major Examinations 30%
