Intramuros, the Old Manila

(Intoduction)
As we can see, Covid-19 has ruined lives of many people. It
claimed jobs, education, and opportunities, especially in Intramuros.
Before this pandemic, it is one of the best places to go to. Now, this
virus denied opportunities for people to see the beauty of it.
Intramuros is one of the finest place where you can see historical
concepts dating back centuries ago. As a matter of fact, some of
Philippines’ historical figures actually studied in the prestigious schools
inside Intramuros.

Intramuros functioned as the seat of government from 1571 to
1898. Its purpose was to hold meetings between senates. Another thing
about Intramuros is that its wall, is about 4.5 kilometers, long enough
to cover the oldest district of Manila. It also holds many tourist spots
which incude Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church, and
many more.
The Spanish began building Intramuros in 1521 on 0.67 square
kilometres of land strategically chosen between Manila Bay and the
Pasig River. It was designed as a tight grid to keep its streets functional
but contained. Hence, the name 'Intramuros': a city within the walls. It
is also 6 meters high.
Intramuros is a vital historical landmark of the Philippines because
