Giving is a measure of one’s love for God.
It is an expression of obedience, but also of
gratitude, trust, and increasing joy.
Tithes is everything from the land, whether
grain from the soil or fruits from the trees,
belongs to God. It is giving the ten percent
of our income to God through the church.
First Fruit is a religious offering to the first
agricultural produce of the harvest. In some
religions, the first fruit were given to priests
as an offering to deity.
Harvest is the time where we reap what we
sow. Moreover, it is God’s provision for us
and God’s blessing for others.
Grudgingly is unwilling or reluctant. Giving
grudgingly on the other hand is when we
talk, murmur, complain and protests before
giving.
Cheerful, this is actually the word where we
get hilarious from. It means ready, excited,
spontaneous and prepare. Gove loves
someone who is cheerful to give.
Servant is a person who serve Jesus
Christ. Who is devoted and a helpful
follower, who is humble before God and
who do not expect a money or reward.
Steward, we are steward of God. It is an
idea of an overseer or manager over
someone else’s matters.
Generous is showing a readiness to give
is strictly necessary or expected.
Psalm 24:1
“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness
thereof; the world, and they dwell therein.”
- So when it comes to giving, the first
and most essential principle we
need to remember is that, all those
things and all that money we are
holding on to, they’re not really ours.
They are on loan to us from God. All
He’s doing is asking us to share a
little of it back with him.
Luke 6:38
“Give, and it will be given to you. Good
measure, pressed down, shaken together,
running over, will be put into your lap. For
with the same measure you use it will be
measured back to you.”
- When we give, we are making room
for God to give us more. When we
don’t give, there is no room for the
new and additional blessings God
has waiting for us.
2 Corinthians 9:7
“So let each once gives us purposes in his
heart, not grudgingly or of necessity, for
God loves cheerful giver.”
Matthew 6:19-21
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on
earth, where moths and rust destroy, and
where thieves break in and steal. But lay up
for yourselves treasures in heaven, where
moths and rust do not destroy, and where
thieves do not break in and steal. For where
your treasure is, there your heart will be
also.”
Proverbs 3:9-10
“Honor your lord with your wealth and with
the first fruits of all your produce; then your
barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats
will be bursting with wine.”

“He who has pity on the poor lends to the
Lord, and He will pay back what he has
given.”

Leviticus 27:30
“And all the tithe of the land, whether of the
seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is
the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord.”
