COVID-19 POLICY A ND PROCEDURE

In addition, please apply the below recommendations that will allow for the
reduction of ambiguity in identifying the onset of fever as well as monitoring any
positive or negative changes in body temperature.

Since surface temperature is more susceptible to changes in the surroundings, thus

it is recommended to:

1. crosscheck the accuracy, suitability of your body InfraRed thermometer by

comparing your it with a dedicated body orifice one (those infrared
thermometers may have a +/-1 degree)

2. Strictly apply a method of measurement which suit all crew members.

3. The infrared thermometer should be at or near the room temperature where the
test will be conducted. For example, if you’ve just brought the thermometer out
of the accommodations (A/C), allow it to rest for 15 to 20 minutes at the new
room temperature before taking temperature.

4. The Distance to Target Ratio is normally indicated on each thermometer or in the

instructions.

5. Familiarize with the correct use of body IR thermometer and temperature

reading by referring to the user instructions provided by manufacturer.

6. Avoid activities that would distort temperature measurement (e.g. sport / the
chore of carrying provisions / drinking hot water immediately before taking
temperature).

7. Clean and maintain the IR thermometer according to the procedures

recommended by the user instructions. Ensure that the lens or IR sensor is free
of debris, grime, or condensation which can affect the accuracy of the reading.
Use a soft cotton swab and alcohol to gently wipe it clean if needed. Avoid
scratching the lens or sensor.
8. In case body temperature needs to be taken regularly, take the temperature at
the same time of each day and use the same temperature taking method to allow
comparison.

9. Granting paid time off for symptomatic employees, employees who must care for
family members who are diagnosed with COVID-19, and/or employees with
diagnosed cases of COVID-19

10. Expanding the time of meal service to avoid congestion, and asking employees
to consider alternate meal times to reduce crowds

11. If there is any doubt about the body temperature reading, please report
immediately to MOC / Medic.

12. If in doubt consult your HSE manager / Medic / healthcare professionals.

Please to check again the body temperature of all POB your vessel according to the
above recommendations.
