IMPORTANT PICTURE DAY UPDATE: Class photos have been postponed for the spring. More
details around this will be sent out in advance of the spring photo day. Again, individual pic-
tures ONLY will be taken tomorrow, October 3, 2022.
I am urging you to remember that carpool opens at 2:10 p.m. The backup on the access road
and out to Maynard Drive creates significant issues with our business neighbors and traffic
flow. Please do not arrive prior to 2:10 p.m.

Safety Patrol fulfills an educational role at Cardinal by teaching responsibility through as-
signed tasks and roles - under guidance. Safety patrol encourages character development
through the recognition of achievement and holds students accountable for their participa-
tion and creates role models to be emulated through the program. For more information,

pool, Please turn your Hazard Lights ON and Remove Child
Safety Lock.
Please do not leave your vehicle to help your student.
Please make every effort to have your student exit their vehicle from

Returning and new parents: If your child has any known health concerns, please
email nurse Sophie with your student’s name, grade, and a description of his/her
health concern(s). If your child requires medication (including Over-The-Counter
medications) while at school, a new Medication Authorization Form must be
signed by your physician at the beginning of each year.
Kindergarten parents: If you have a Kindergarten student, you are required to
submit their vaccination records as well as a NC Health Assessment form before
they start Kindergarten, which may be found here: HAForm2016Revised-

Cross Country team started out the season strong! With this week's race, Graham now
has two first place runs, while other members of the team have placed top 10 in all rac-
es.
Soccer has started the season off strong as well with winning all their games this week.

Winter Sports Season: Girls Basketball and Boys Basketball
We will be having a Try Out Week for Girls and Boys Basketball. This will start the week of
October 17, 2022. All forms and physicals must be uploaded to DragonFly by Sunday, Octo-
ber 16, 2022. Please do not send in any physicals or documents but upload them on the web-
site. It is an app available to be downloaded through the Apple store or the Google Play Store.
If you need any assistance, reach out to AD Calhoun-Minnis to set up an appointment for help
with DragonFly.

and Lands’ End. Uniform bottoms (navy or khaki) may be purchased anywhere

**Delayed orders—Some suppliers are experiencing delays in delivering uniforms to
parents. If your items are delayed, please have your child wear a plain red polo
(elementary) or plain navy polo (middle school) to school, and send in a note with

At-School Aftercare
Aftercare is available at school with a partnership with the YMCA.
It is held on campus, from 3:15pm-6pm daily and is available as weekly
sessions. Please visit the aftercare website below for more information
and to register for the program.

Fall ASE Catalog

Hello Parents! It's Fall After School Enrichment time! I am thrilled to announce we
have fifteen different enrichments being offered this session! Please pay close attention
to the grade ranges for each club, as all clubs are different.
This Fall session will last from the weeks of September 26st-November 18th. Clubs
will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays. Each day of club students will be
called over the loudspeaker at 3:30 pm. They will be signed in by either the ASE coor-
dinator, a safety patrol member or a parent volunteer. When students arrive in the cafe-
teria, they will go to the same table each day. They will be expected to stay seated at a
level 1 voice, have no food or drink out and may read a book/do homework while they
wait for their enrichment teachers to pick them up. Enrichment teachers will pick up the
students from the cafeteria at 3:45. Teachers will walk the students to the club, do the
things, and return them to the cafeteria at 4:45 pm. Please direct all questions about
snacks, change of clothes, and all other details for each specific club to
the enrichment teacher. 
Students are to be picked up by a parent at 4:45 pm in the cafeteria. Please enter
through the outside doors, walk to your student's assigned table (tables will be the same
each week to get everyone into an organized routine) and sign your student out. No
student may leave without a signature unless you indicated on the form that your
student will be attending aftercare that day. If students are attending aftercare after a
club, they will be escorted to their aftercare teachers. Cafeteria doors will open at 4:35
pm. Students who are still in the cafeteria at 4:55 pm will call the contact phone num-
ber provided. The cafeteria doors are locked at 5:00pm sharp. If you arrive at 5:01pm,
you are late. Your student will be walked downstairs to the aftercare door ex-
it. Individual ASE teachers will have to wait with your student downstairs until you ar-
rive to pick them up late.

Cafeteria Information
MySchoolBucks is an online payment service that provides parents the
ability to securely pay for meals, monitor student cafeteria purchases and
receive email notifications for low account balances. This service allows
you to pay for school meals online using a credit/debit card or electronic
check. (NO cash).
The My School Bucks application has a new version. PARENTS: If your app is with-
out auto-update enabled then please download the update in your device's app
store.

Cardinal has a carpool video to assist parents that are new to carpool and
refresh the memory of past families.

The morning and afternoon carpool maps are available under the
“resources” tab on the PTO website.
Signs have been placed along St. Charles reminding parents to use the
carpool lanes instead of dropping students off along that road each
morning. School policy is for all vehicles to use the carpool lanes in the
morning, and you will be signing pages from the Parent-Student Hand-
book, agreeing to follow all school policies.
ALL STUDENTS DISMISS AT 3PM DAILY.

Gates will open at 2:10pm and will close at 3:40 pm.
Students will keep the carpool number they were assigned in previous
years, and new families will be assigned a new number. Carpool tags
MUST be used to pick up your student from school.
*Have your child memorize their carpool number and remind them to
go directly from their classroom to their assigned cone color.*
