HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
1. STATEMENT OF PROJECT:
Hospital are the essential part of our lives, providing best medical facilities to people suffering from
various ailments, which may be due to change in climatic conditions, increased work-load, emotional
trauma stress etc. It is necessary for the hospitals to keep track of its day-to-day activities & records of
its patients, doctors, nurses, ward boys and other staff personals that keep the hospital running
smoothly & successfully. But keeping track of all the activities and their records on paper is very
cumbersome and error prone. It also is very inefficient and a time-consuming process Observing the
continuous increase in population and number of people visiting the hospital. Recording and
maintaining all these records is highly unreliable, inefficient and error-prone. It is also not
economically & technically feasible to maintain these records on paper. Thus keeping the working of
the manual system as the basis of our project. We have developed an automated version of the manual
system, named as "Hospital Management System". The main aim of our project is to provide a paper-
less hospital up to 90%. It also aims at providing low-cost reliable automation of the existing systems.
The system also provides excellent security of data at every level of user-system interaction and also
provides robust & reliable storage and backup facilities.
2. REQUIREMENT GATHERING:
How to setup a website.
How to add and remove staff members.
How to setup checking procedure.
How to calculate bill.
How to make payments.
2.1. PHASE 1
2.1.1 FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION
A Functional Requirement (FR) is a description of the service that the software must offer. It describes a
software system or its component. A function is nothing but inputs to the software system, its behavior,
and outputs.
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENT 1
Business requirement- Add Staff Members, Staff Details, Doctor Patient Record, Payments, Etc
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENT 2
External requirement - Make sure your responsive implementation is professionally executed; as
clunky mobile experience discounts the quality of the business for the fast-paced services.
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENRT 3
Ease of use in the checkout flow - Focus on ease of use; ensure you don’t introduce any unnecessary
steps to complete the procedures. Strive for a one-click experience.
FUNTIONAL REQUIREMENT 4
Accessibility - Follow the universal guidelines provided and implement your accessibility standard
to include all patients.
2.2. PHASE 2
2.2.1 NON FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS DESCTRIPTION
A non-functional requirement is a requirement that specifies criteria that can be used to judge the
operation of a system, rather than specific behaviors. They are contrasted with functional
requirements that define specific behavior or functions.
NONFUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENT 2
Availability- the hospital management system must be available 24/7. The application and database
have a daily centralized backup. All backup can be restored once on system failure.
NONFUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENT 3
Capacity requirement- the capacity of the system must be defined as the total number of users in
the concurrent system. It includes patients, doctors, nurses, accountants etc. the system software and
hardware can support 40% capacity expands in the future.
NONFUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENT 4
Security- this system must login with phone number and CNIC only. Therefore the customer entry
in the system must be unique. Payments made will be authorized by proper payment methods.
