About the sweater

This sweater design is very simple and cozy. This sweater is oversize

and cropped perfect for spring. This pattern is suitable for

advanced beginners familiar with basic crochet terms.

Materials and Gauge

Crochet hook: 5mm

Yarn weight: two different colors of DK/ weight 3/ light worsted

weight yarn.

Gauge: 14 dc sts and 9 dc rows equal 4 inches square/10cm square

Skill needed and Abbreviations

Ch= Chain

Sc: Single crochet,

Hdc= Half double crochet

BLO= Back loop only

DC = double crochet

dc2tog: double crochet 2 together(decrease)

St(s)= Stitch(es)

Sl= Slip
Customization note

-If you want your sweater to be less oversize or more oversize you

can increase or decrease ensuring you have an even number of chains.

-If you want your body and sleeves length to be shorter or longer

than the measurements provided you can increase or decrease by 2

rows for each colors.

-if you want your sleeve width to be more or less puffy you can

increase or decrease few stitches.

- You can make this sweater with bigger or smaller hook sizes as long

as you follow the measurement provided for your size.


Pattern notes

• The ch 1 at the beginning of the row doesn’t count as a st


(Ribbing)

• The ch 2 at the beginning of the row counts as the 1st dc, and
the last dc of the row is worked on top of the ch 2 from the
previous rows. (Body)

• All panels of the sweater is worked bottom up.

• Some images included in this pattern are for demonstrating


purposes.

BODY

Make two panels with contrasting colors

Start with ColorA

ch (XS: 81, S: 83, M: 85, L: 89, XL: 91)

Row1: dc in third ch from hook (count as first dc) and across until

you got a number of sts (XS: 40, S: 41, M: 42, L: 44, XL: 45)

finish this last st with ColorB and drop off ColorA then with ColorB

dc across until the end of the row. You will have a total sts of

(XS:80, S: 82, M: 84, L: 88, XL: 90 ) then turn the work.


* As you can see we work half of the row with ColorA and half of

the row with ColorB

Row2: ColorB ch 2 then dc across until you reach ColorA and finish

the last st of ColorB with ColorA then drop off ColorB and then

for the first Dc of ColorA instead of normal dc put the hook behind

the ColorA yarn that you picked up then dc through three

loops( front loop and back loop and yarn ColorA that you picked

up).

*do this so the place of changing the color looks cleaner.

Result

Repeat Row2 until you get total rows for your size(half of the

length):

• XS: 19 rows

• S: 19 rows

• M: 20 rows

• L: 20 rows

• XL: 21 rows

After finishing the row switch the color then repeat the process for

other number of Rows for your size:

• XS: 17 rows

• S: 17 rows

• M: 18 rows

• L: 18 rows

• XL: 19 rows
From here we will work on the neck hole for 2 rows (all sizes)

Row1 of neck hole:

from one side of the panel ch2 then normal dc across the row

for( XS: 22 sts, S: 23 sts, M: 23 sts, L: 24 sts, XL: 24 sts)

then dc2tog (decrease 1 st) then normal dc for the last st so you

did total sts of ( XS: 25 sts, S: 26 sts, M: 26 sts, L: 27 sts, XL:

27 sts) *this number include the decrease sts and then turn your

work.

Row2 of neck hole:

ch 2 then normal dc across the rows you have total of sts from

shoulder side to neck hole of ( XS: 24 sts, S: 25 sts, M: 25 sts,

L: 26 sts, XL: 26 sts)

finish off by leaving a long tail for sewing the seam .

Repeat the process for the other side of shoulder.

After you finish the panel, you will have a total number of rows:

• XS: 38 rows

• S: 38 rows

• M: 40 rows

• L: 40 row

• XL: 42 rows
Sleeves

Make two panels with contrast colors

Ribbing:

With ColorA

ch 11

Row1: sc in second ch from hook and across (total 10 sts) then turn

your work.
Back Loop

Row2: ch 1 then sc in BLO across the row ( 10 total sts).

Repeat Row2 until you get a total rows for your size:

• XS: 30 rows

• S: 32 rows

• M: 34 rows

• L: 36 rows

• XL: 38 rows

At the end of the last row do not turn your work we will work on

the main sleeve.

Main sleeves:

With colorA (use the same color for a cleaner look at the edge

of the ribbing)

Ch 1 then sc into the long edge of the ribbing you will have total sts

number equal to your ribbing rows (this sc row does not count as a

row)
Change to ColorB

Row 1 : Ch 2 then 2 dc every stitches across after you finish the row

you will have a total sts numbers for your size:

• XS: 60 sts

• S: 64 sts

• M: 68 sts

• L: 72 sts

• XL: 74 sts
Row 2: Ch 2 then dc every stitch across

keep repeating the process until you get a total rows for your size

(half of the sleeve length):

• XS: 13 rows

• S: 14 rows

• M: 14 rows

• L: 15 rows

• XL: 16 rows

Change to ColorA

Repeat the process for other half of the sleeve length then you get

total rows of sleeve:

• XS: 26 rows

• S: 28 rows

• M: 28 rows

• L: 30 rows

• XL: 32 rows

finish off by leaving an extra long tail for sewing the seam.

Repeat the process for the other sleeve with contrasting colors.
Assemble the pieces

sleeves

Fold over the sleeve then with the extra tail yarn sew along the edge

using sl st or tapestry needle.


Body

-With right sides facing each other sew the shoulder part of body.

-Sew the body side from bottom until you have length of your

armhole equal to the width of the fold sleeve.


- Put the right side of the sleeves and body in and tuck the sleeve
in the body panel and then attach the sleeves to the armholes.

Neckline ribbing

With Color of your choice

Attach your yarn into any st of neck hole.

Round1: Ch 1 then sc in every st around then sl st to join the round.


Round2: ch2 then hdc every sts around then sl st to join the round

ch1 to fasten off.

finish off and weave your ends. Now you are done with your sweater.
