Installation Instructions
for the
KODAK 805 Photo Printer
with the
KODAK Picture Maker G3
and the
KODAK Picture Kiosk G4

Important Information
The KODAK 805 Photo Printer is a USB device.

Kit Contents
This kit includes:
• KODAK 805 Photo Printer
• Rear Dust Cover
• Ribbon Carrier
• Paper Tray

Turning Off the Kiosk


[1] Touch:
• Setup
• Shutdown System
• Continue
[2] Turn off the power to the Kiosk.
[3] Unplug the Power Cord(s) for the Kiosk.

Connecting the Printer

Important
The Printer weighs approximately 28.7 lbs (13 kg).
[1] Remove the Printer from the shipping box.
[2] Remove any packing materials from the Printer.
[3] Insert the bottom of the dust cover in the back slot
of the printer.

[5] Place the Printer in the appropriate location.

[9] Plug the Power Cord for the Printer into the power
source.
[10] Turn on the printer power.
[11] Plug the Power Cord for the Kiosk into the power
source, and turn on the power.

Loading the Paper


You can adjust the paper tray to the size of the paper you are loading. Do not force paper that is too long or too wide
into the tray.
[1] Remove the paper tray from the printer.

[2] Remove the cover from the paper tray.

[3] Push the plastic paper support on the paper tray


until you hear a click.

r Length Adjuster [4] If necessary, adjust the paper tray to fit the paper
you are loading.
• Squeeze each side of the paper length
12 inch adjuster.
• Slide the paper length adjuster to the correct
14 inch
position for the length of the paper you are
loading. Make sure that the paper length
adjuster is locked into position.
[5] Remove the paper from the package.
[6] Place the paper in the tray with the logo side
down. Make sure that the front corners of the
stack are under the metal tabs.

Note
You can load up to 50 sheets of paper in the paper tray.

[7] Remove the installation instructions and stiffener


sheet.

[8] Replace the cover on the paper tray.

[9] Install the paper tray in the printer.

Loading the Ribbon


[1] Open the top cover.

Important
Touching the dye patches could contaminate the
ribbon, resulting in scratches on your prints.
[2] Remove the new ribbon from its packaging.

[3] Insert the back spool onto the two hubs.

[4] Insert the front spool onto the two hubs.
[5] Turn the supply spool until the ribbon is taut.
[6] Close the top cover.

[7] If you have a Picture Kiosk G4, replace the cable


cover on the back of the Console.

Troubleshooting Error Messages

Error Message or Condition Possible Solution


The Printer is listed as NOT 1. Check that the Printer power light is on. If not, check that the Power Cord
FOUND in Device Health is connected to the printer and plugged in at the power source.
Check. 2. Check that the Printer USB Cable is connected securely to the Printer
and Console.
3. Shut down the Kiosk.
4. Restart the Kiosk.
5. If “NOT FOUND” appears again, contact KODAK Service and Support.
Printer applications do not 1. Check that the Printer power light is on. If not, check that the Power Cord
appear on the screen. is connected to the printer and plugged in at the power source.
2. Check that the Printer USB Cable is connected securely to the Printer
and Console.
3. Check that the application is enabled under User Mode.
4. Run Application Health Check and check that at least one “Make Prints”
entry is listed as Available.
5. If the problem continues, contact KODAK Service and Support.
The ribbon is empty. Check that there is ribbon. If necessary, load new ribbon. See “Loading the
Ribbon” on Page 5.
Load Paper. Check that there is paper. If necessary, load new paper. See “Loading the
Paper” on Page 3.
