Short Narrative Report:

When the group initially gathered, a depiction of a woman raising four kids—each
contending with their respective middle adolescent problems—emerged. The majority
reached the subsequent conclusion. The first daughter desired intimacy on a physical,
emotional, and appealing level since she felt insecure around Sam. Accordingly, the second
daughter is extremely anxious regarding her educational future considering her concern vis-
a-vis the disappointment of her mother. The third daughter is influenced to engage in
parties, consume alcohol, and smoke cigarettes as she predominantly prioritizes freedom
and social engagement. The fourth daughter is self-conscious over her appearance
consequential to being bullied.

Script:

Scene 1. Setting: House of the Ariza family. Kitchen. 8:00 A.M.

Mom Trexylee: Breakfast is ready. Let's eat!

(While the family is eating, Sam is studying, April is listening to music through her
headphones, April Joy has her right foot propped up on the chair, Kemberly is on the phone
with her lover, and Genford is barely eating her food)

April: I gotta go.

April Joy: I’m done eating.

Genford: I’m full!

(The three leaves sequentially)

Mom: (to Sam) Here’s the money you asked for your books.

Sam: Thanks, Mom!

(Sam leaves for school)

(Kemberly approaches Mom)

Kemberly: Mom, I need money.

Mom: I already gave the money to Sam. She needs it for school.

(Kemberly leaves angrily)

Scene 2. Setting: Kem’s boyfriend’s personal room, 8:30 P.M.

(Kemberly enters Chris’ house while he is taking drugs)

Chris: Why are you in a bad mood?

Kemberly: My mother didn’t give me money. She gave it to my sister.

Chris: Chill, babe. I have money. But, take it first.

(Kemberly rushes for the cash facilitating intimacy)

Scene 3. Setting: School hallway, 9:30 A.M.

Bully 1: You’re so clumsy!

Bully 2: You’re disgusting!

(Genford whimpers and scurries over to Sam.)

Genford: Sam!

Sam: (sobbing) I am not satisfied with my academic performance now. Mom will be
disappointed.

Scene 4. Setting: Night bar, near Ariza residence, 10:00 P.M.

(April and Sheila dance while they consume alcohol and smoke)

(Clingy April Joy and Cleophie arrive.)

Sheila: (pointing to April Joy and Cleophie) Look! Isn’t that your sister? Are they in a
relationship?
April: What? No freaking way! (walks to April Joy)

April: Hey, you! Why are you with a girl?

Cleophie: Who are they, babe?

April: (scoffs) Babe? Are you a lesbian?

April Joy: Yes! What’s wrong with that?

April: You’re disgusting! I’ll tell Mom you’re dating a girl!

April Joy: I don’t care if you tell Mom. Please, be my guest. You can even tell her right now,
I’m done hiding!

(April runs to their house while April Joy chases her)

Scene 5

Setting: Ariza residence, living room, 10:30 P.M.

(Sam crying; Mom and Genford comforts her) (Kemberly uses her cellphone)

(Door suddenly opens)

April: Mom! Did you know that this girl is a lesbian? Yuck. What a shame!

April Joy: Yes, I’m a lesbian. So what? At least I’m not a bitch like you and Kem!

(April scoffs)

Mom Trexylee: Enough, girls.

Kemberly: Stop involving me! Ah, right! I’m the black sheep of this family and Sam is the
golden child!

Mom Trexylee: I said enough!
