CREATORS OF
MEDIA AND
INFORMATION
1. Writers and Journalists. They work in
publishing houses, new agencies, or
advertising printed materials, such as
books, newspapers, and magazines.

THESE ARE THE MEDIA PRACTITIONERS WHO WORKS HAND IN HAND

TOGETHER. PEOPLE MAY ASK SOMETIME IF THERE’S A DIFFERENCE
BETWEEN THE TWO. WELL THE THING HERE IS THAT, IF YOU CAN’T BE AN
ASPIRING WRITER, YOU CAN BE AN ASPIRING AUTHOR IN ANY PRE-
PUBLICATION STAGE. WHILE YOU CAN SAY THAT JOURNALIST IS SOMEONE
WHO WRITES AND/OR REPORTS FOR NEWSPAPER AND MAGAZINES. A
JOURNALIST CAN BE A WRITER, BUT NOT ALL WRITERS ARE JOURNALISTS.
2. Editors. Writers and journalists work
hand in hand with editors to ensure that
the manuscript or articles submitted by
the former are high in standard and are
fit print.
THE JOB OF AN EDITOR IS DIFFERENT FROM THE JOURNALISTS
AND WRITERS. AN EDITOR IS CRITICAL READER AND A LOVER OF
WORDS, WHOSE JOB IS TO POLISH AND REFINE A STORY OR AN
ARTICLE. EDITORS ARE SUBJECT TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
CHECKING FACTS, SPELLING, GRAMMAR, AND PUNCTUATION.
3. Director. Also known as filmmakers,
directors create movies, shows or programs
and plays that are seen on theaters,
television channels, or theaters,
respectively. A director sees to it that the
message of a show is made clear to the
audience.
A FILM DIRECTOR CONTROL’S A FILM’S ARTISTIC AND DRAMATIC ASPECTS AND
VISUALIZES THE SCREENPLAY (OR SCRIPT) WHILE GUIDING THE TECHNICAL CREW AND
ACTORS IN THE FULLFILMENT OF THAT VISION. THE DIRECTOR HAS A KEY ROLE IN
CHOOSING THE RIGHT ACTORS, PRODUCTION DESIGN AND ALL CREATIVE ASPECTS OF
FILM MAKING.
4. Performers. The actors who
portray the characters in movies,
shows, and plays are called
performers.
PERFORMERS PERTAINS TO THE ACTORS AND
ACTRESSES WHO PLAY A SPECIFIC
CHARACTER IN THE MOVIE/THEATERS.
USUALLY, THE INTENDED PURPOSE OF IT IS TO
ENTERTAIN THE AUDIENCE.
5. Visual Artists. Paintings and
sculptures are some of the
masterpieces that visual artists
create. (Concrete and abstract)

THEY ARE SOMEONE WHO INVOLVES IN

THE ARTS OF PAINTING, SCULPTING,
PHOTOGRAPHY, ETC, AS OPPOSED TO
MUSIC, DRAMA AND LITERATURE.
Characteristics of
a Good Media
Practitioner
Characteristics 1. TRUTHFULNESS
of a Good Media
Practitioner
2. FAIRNESS AND OBJECTIVITY

3. RESPONSIBILITY AND
INTEGRITY
4. EMPATHY AND SYMPATHY

5. HARD WORKING
1. TRUTHFULNESS
Media practitioners should convey a message
or information that is accurate, factual, and
truthful.

AS A MEDIA PRACTITIONER, THERE ARE LOTS OF PEOPLE WHOSE

GOING TO RELY ON YOU. YOU BECOME AN INFLUENCER OF THE
SOCIETY WHEN IT COMES TO NEWS AND INFORMATION. THEY’RE NOT
JUST GOING TO LOOK UNTO YOU, BUT THEY’LL EXPECT YOU TO BE
MORE TRUTHFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU CONVEY. WHAT YOU SAY IS
WHAT THEY’RE GOING TO BELIEVE AND THAT’S THE WAY IT IS. IF YOU’LL
TELL LIES, THEY’LL STILL GONNA BELIEVE IN YOU. THAT’S HOW YOU CAN
AFFECT THEIR SYSTEM.
2. FAIRNESS AND OBJECTIVITY

The information or message disseminated by

media practitioners should be objective and
based on grounded evidence.

If the information is biased or opinionated, it will

deceive the public of the truth. As the public gives
their complete trust to media practitioners, it is only
fair that the latter only present stories that are real
and accurate.
3. RESPONSIBILITY AND
INTEGRITY
Media practitioners are expected to show
professionalism regardless of the situation they
are in.

They should not compromise their integrity by showing partiality or

partisanship. They should also possess a sense of responsibility and
accountability when acquiring information. Media practitioners should not
compromise their reputation and credibility just for the sake of popularity or
power.
4. EMPATHY AND SYMPATHY
Being in the media does not give practitioners
the right to use their job for the personal gains.
Media practitioners should be sensitive to the
needs of others.

They should show their respect to the privacy of others too.

Media practitioners empathize when they put themselves in the
shoes of those who are in need, and sympathize when they
feel the sorrow of those who experience adversities.
5. HARD WORKING
The public depends on the information media
practitioners deliver that is why they are
expected to work hard in sourcing the accurate
information.

They should give their best effort for their work, whether
writing an article, making a film, or composing a song. The
public regards media practitioners highly, so they must not
compromise the public’s interest.
