Roch Studio: Industry Project Report
Roch Studio: Industry Project Report
I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to Roch Studio for giving
me the opportunity to intern and work with them. I take this opportunity to
acknowledge the institutions and individuals who have made a major
contribution in the development of this process and experience. I would also like
to thank Mrs. Swati Aggarwal my college mentor from School of Fashion for
providing me with direction and support at every step of the way.
We believe the fashion industry takes itself too seriously and have
completely forgotten how to have fun and create out of curiosity, it’s
only when one is at its happiest and most confident when great
creations are generated and we at Roch are firm believers of that.
Our fashion inspiration comes from our inside our houses and the
memories we’ve bout through the years. We love to incorporate small
little details from our Indian culture & heritage that steps us apart
Marigold flower with its rich Indian roots symbolizes and represents a cycle of
birth and death.
How one thing is born and tends to ashes cycle which represents circularity and
sustainability
The marigold in itself is a form of celebration , a form of festivities ,a form of
happiness and joy.
We at Roch believe that nothing should deplete our earth, especially not what we
wear hence our values are such to preserve and save the environment and be
conscious about our choices; with organic and sustainable materials for
production to ethical treatments of our coworkers and employees.

introduction about the brand was given, getting familiar with their work environment,
meeting the design team of the company, their area of specialization, knowing about
the different kind of fabrics they deal in and to study their past collection. Over all,
briefing about the company and how it works. Another task given was to start
brainstorming ideas for their upcoming fall/winter collection and do research work for
the same
During the second week, I was allowed to handle client diaries and their orders after I observed how they deal with their clients and fulfil their
requirements. I observed that understanding a client about product, fabric or features is a tough job but much required job in fashion industry. Dealing
with the customers was a learning point for me, as I came to know their preferences which helped me in the design process of the upcoming collection. I
also did trend analysis of the international as well as the Indian market. Carried out an in depth market research for the product mix that the company was
focusing on. After understanding the brands personality as well as their identities and finding suitable options/examples for their collections pertaining to
apparel design, I assisted the design team with their conceptualization for the Fall/Winter Collection
I got to work and enhance my CAD skills this week. After making many
explorations of silhouette generation by hand, I was asked to make those
digitally. I used photoshop and Illustrator to make the fashion illustrations
of the upcoming Fall/Winter Collection. I was also asked to work on the
some of the incomplete tech-packs. I went for fabric sourcing with the team
and got to learn a lot about how fabrics feel, weight and fall. It was a great
practical learning. Overall I got to learn a lot from the mistakes I made
during digital exploration and that in return enhanced my Cad skills and
also learn so much more about fabrics.
