 PAINETA OR PAYNETA

A peineta is a huge ornamental comb that is typically

worn beneath a mantilla, or lace head covering. The
female hair ornament consists of a convex body and
a pair of teeth that attaches to hair worn in a bun.
The peineta was traditionally constructed of tortoise
shell, but it is now typically made of synthetic
materials such as acrylic or plastic.
 ARTIFACT
A peineta, or payneta, is a classic ornamental
comb used by affluent Filipina ladies to complete
the traje de mestiza, also known as the Maria Clara
attire, which was popularized in 19th century
Philippines. This unique hair comb is not only
aesthetically beautiful, but also rich in stories and
tradition. Sweep the payneta along the side of your
head, or tuck it into a loosely-pinned high or low
bun for a romantic look.

Fun fact: The term 'payneta' is even mentioned in

the lyrics of the popular Filipino folk song many
of us grew up listening to - Paru-parong Bukid!

influence, older generations of Filipina ladies wore
exquisite paineta or bejeweled combs. Combs are
thought to reveal one's social status more than merely
keeping one's hair in place. Ma Angelica Rare Finds

piece encased in gold filigree. Unang Panahon also
provides sterling silver peineta with seed pearls; 14-

with old miners-cut. today, it is largely utilized for
special events such as weddings, bullfights, Holy
Week processions, and traditional flamenco music
performances. The peineta is typically paired with a
mantilla, a veil that covers the head and shoulders.

 Artifacts are usually papers with their own set of rules. The

complexity of the coding. An artifact might be a user-

database queries, grammatical rules, or user-generated
content without requiring knowledge of the programming
language used in their production. All of these are
necessary for the software's functioning and upkeep. To
recap, the term "artifact" is rather wide. Some software
may include only a few artifacts that describe how it works,
but others may be essential for operating the software or
upgrading it in the future. Furthermore, the term "artifact"
corresponds to the archaeological term for the traces of
other people. These artifacts are discovered, and the
analogy applies in the digital realm as well. These artifacts
aid new developers in understanding the prior developers'
thought processes. More functionality may be introduced or
the program can be enhanced by understanding the thought
process. As a result, developers can base additional
decisions on the data gathered from these artifacts.

 EDUCATIONAL IMPACT
These days, using a comb is important, especially for
someone like me who studied tourism management.
My school requires tourism students to wear their
hair in a bun, and I occasionally use a comb.
However, combing your hair has more advantages
than just self-care; it is customary to do so twice a
day, once in the morning and once in the evening
before bed. For more than a century, women and men
with naturally curly, wavy, or kinky hair have used
hot combs to produce straight and diverse hairstyles.
The hot comb has long been used as an alternative to
perms and other chemical methods for straightening
hair. It has been a highly beneficial invention among
the African American community. Many people
refer to a heated comb as a straightening comb. The
hot comb is a metal comb with enlarged teeth. This
comb is typically used to straighten very curly or
kinky hair. Many people may produce a range of hiar
styles by using a hot comb.
