MACHINE INTRODUCTION
DURMA Fiber Laser Machine is a "High Speed" 2D machine used in the cutting of flat sheets. It works with "Flying
Optics" principles. This means that the cutting table is fixed on top of the metal sheet, and the cutting head moves
around X, Y, and Z axis to perform the cutting process. Very high acceleration rates (up to 3G) are achieved with this
method. It also provides maximum sensitivity in piece cutting with encoder measurement system.

Command from Single-Point

The body of the machine is steel, while the bridge is aluminum-welded steel construction. Welded machine body and
the axes are processed with stress relief. This process prevents all potential casts that may occur as a result of
welding on the machine structure. Moving axes work with dynamic, high-performance AC Servo engines and linear
engines that do not require maintenance.
A multi-cellular suction system is used to vacuum the dust generated during the laser cutting process, and to sends
the dust to dust filters. All scrap parts and small parts that fall to the bottom during cutting are collected and dropped
into scrap boxes within the shortest time with vertical conveyor system.
The automatic shuttle table system is designed with the principle of reducing the time to prepare the material for
cutting, and collecting the cut materials without stopping the machine. Loading and unloading operations can be
performed on the other table while the cutting process is taking place in the machine.

THE ADVANTAGES OF FIBER LASER MACHINES


Operating costs are approximately 60% lower compared to CO2 lasers. Fiber resonators draw 3.2 kW of electricity
from the grid per kW, while this value is 11kW for CO2 resonators.

Fiber resonators do not require maintenance unlike CO2 resonators. CO2 lasers require 4-5 hours a week of
maintenance work for mirror maintenance, lens control, beam alignment, and bellow control. Fiber lasers do not
require such maintenance.

Fiber lasers are able to cut copper, brass, and aluminum in addition to the types of materials that CO2 lasers can cut,
and do it faster and safer.

Fiber laser cutting systems can cut up to 25 mm thickness with higher fiber laser powers, and the cutting speed
reaches its highest level when nitrogen is used as an auxiliary gas. However, the most important difference is for
thicknesses of 8 mm and below. In cases where stainless, aluminum, brass, or copper materials are processed, the
Fiber Laser is the fastest and most economical one in all conditions.

The focused beam of a 2 kW fiber laser shows 5 times more power density at the focal point compared to a 4 kW CO2
laser. Furthermore, it has 2.5 times more absorption capability due to the shorter wavelength of the fiber laser.
Making effective use of the speed advantages from high power, DURMA fiber lasers ensure that all operations can be
carefully planned and managed. It provides four times more efficiency and half operating cost of CO2 laser. It provides
lower cost per piece, higher potential profit margin, and lower financing requirement.
As the normal part volumes are processed much faster with the increased machine efficiency, it increases sales
revenues and profits and provides the opportunity to perform additional works.

The beam generated in the fiber resonator is transmitted over the fiber cable to the cutting head in a completely
closed system. Fiber lasers do not require any warm-up period, while CO2 lasers require a warm-up time of 10-15
minutes at the time of initial operation, depending on weather conditions.

Due to the stability of the fiber beam, fewer cutting parameters are needed.

MANUFACTURING
All our machines manufactured in DURMAZLAR comply with EN 12622:2009, EN ISO 4413:2010, EN ISO 13855:2010,
EN ISO 13857:2008, EN ISO 12100:2010, EN ISO 13849-1: 2009, and EN 60204-1:2011 standards.
All of the steel we use in manufacturing are quality-controlled and certified.
DURMAZLAR has one of the most modern and technologically advanced manufacturing facilities in the world in
metal sheet processing sector. All processes are recorded in real time in our factory, where the "lean manufacturing
philosophy" is enhanced by an ERP system.

A Reinforced and Close to Ground Frame Design


Due to the reinforced and close to ground body structu-
re, the stretching and torsion effects caused by the incre-
ase in temperature are minimized. The body height is
designed at the optimum height to ensure minimum
deflection. These components which are more rigid, and
all welding tension on them are removed with a vibra-
ting stress-relief device after welding process. All the
remaining processes are completed in one binding pass
using 5-axis CNC processing plants. This ensures paralle-
lism of all axes and surfaces of the machine.
All of these processes allow DURMA Fiber Laser machi-
nes to maintain their precision and durability for nume-
rous years.
Special Alloy Bridge Design with Space Geometry Construction
The space-geometry bridge with its new special alloy, construction, and skeletal structure ensures the best absorbing
performance to eliminate the loads that occur during the work. A laser cutting process that doesn't foil the geometry
of the cut part is ensured with this feature, even at high speeds. All body elements are designed in special design
programs, deviations are taken into account and the dynamics of the machine are guaranteed.

MACHINE COMPONENTS

Helical Rack & Pinion System


Axis movements are made with rack system. Since no
extra drive element is used between the motor and
pinion gear system, no deviation occurs in
measurements. With the helical gears processed with
high sensitivity, very high acceleration (Compound 28
m/s2), high movement speed (Compound 170 m/min.)
and positioning tolerance (±0.05 mm) values are
achieved.

Durma uses ALPHA gap-free reducers in machines with


rack drive system. Combined with the ZST series rack,
this system provides laser positioning value and
repeatability value of ±0.05 mm. This is the most safe
way to capture perfect sensitivity.

Linear Motor Motion System


The axis movements are made with state of the art linear
motors that can achieve very high acceleration and
movement speed values. Very high acceleration
(Compound 35 m/s2), high movement speed
(Compound 280 m/min.) and positioning tolerance
(±0.03 mm) values are achieved with linear motors.
All of the frictionless motors used in our linear machines
are water cooled. Temperature controls are carried out
by a cooler independent from the cutting head and laser
power supply. Electrical panel air conditioning is offered
as a standard in our linear machines. Both linear motors
and drivers of the machine provide trouble-free service
for years by this means.

High Speed Z Axis


Another important value affecting the total cutting time
is Z axis acceleration. Durma HD-F series use a new
design with 4G acceleration on all lasers. Fast and
precise positioning on the guide is achieved by
transferring to the cutting head with the drive belt
obtained from the reducer coupled with servo motor. It
is ahead of its competitors with its 160/185 mm mobility.

Zoom V2.0 Laser Cutting Head


Various sheet thicknesses and materials can be proces-
sed with ProCutter 2.0 Zoom. As the focus position and
focus diameter vary independently, it can be adjusted
between 1.2 / 1.5 / 2.0 / 2.5 / 3.0 / 3.5 / 4.0 .
In addition to all the features of F150 head;

The Pro-Cutter F150 head, including 6kW, may be used,

Bevel Cutting System (Option)


It is mainly preferred in companies that do steel
construction. Sheet metal cutting is done via laser
cutting head cutting to + 45° angle.
Depending on the angle, the thickness of the material
to be cut varies.

Automatic Nozzle Changer


Automatic nozzle change feature consists of 10
stations. Before starting cutting, the cutting head
replaces the existing nozzle with the one that is suitable
for cutting, cleans and calibrates and starts cutting. It
also monitors nozzle life.

Nozzle Cleaning and Calibration


With the automatic nozzle cleaning and calibration,
cutting quality due to the contamination of the nozzle is
prevented, especially when cutting foil sheets and thick
materials. The operator can easily activate the
automatic nozzle cleaning from the operator interface
or change the cleaning interval.

IPG Fiber Laser Power Supply


The laser light to be used for cutting, is created in the
laser unit. The rays generated in the modules of the
laser unit can easily be carried by fiber cable to the
cutting head without any loss.
Laser power supply low-mode kilowatt-class lasers have
a structure that does not alter the beam profile between
10% and 100% power levels. This feature allows the
same laser to be used in both low and high power
processes.
The long-range stable beam diameter of the IPG laser
allows the use of long-focus lenses.
This means a deeper processing area without damaging
the lenses.
Fiber lasers that can be used up to 100m distances allow
easy adaptation to different fiber diameters. In addition,
not requiring fiber lasers mirror, precision mirror
adjustment, the need for laser gas and it's light and
small structure gives a superiority over other laser
types.

Factors such as rust, shell formation, paint, label, pitch shifts on the surface, rolling defects, rusts on the surface of
the material, affect the black sheet cutting negatively. The top and bottom surfaces of the material to be cut must
be clean. The cutting quality and cutting speeds of sandblasted sheets vary.
IPG Chiller
The chiller is the device for cooling the laser power
supply and optics in the cutting head. It has a water -
based cooling system. Cooling water is delivered at
different temperatures required by the optics and laser
power supply with double chamber system. The
instantaneous state of the cooler can be monitored
instantly via the control unit. Remote access is also
provided.

Filter
It provides a healthy work environment by absorbing
smoke, dust and small particles generated during
cutting. The filter output can be delivered directly to the
factory atmosphere. Businesses remain clean, healthy
work spaces are provided for operators. Dust class M,
H14 quality, ePTFE Teflon membrane coated polyester
panel type filter is used. HEPA14 is tested and certified
according to EN 1822 standard (ie it filters 99.997% of
0.12 micron particles). The vibrating dust collection filter
is fully automatic. It starts automatically when cutting
starts. It is a compact unit with filter cartridges,
integrated fan motor assembly and jet-pulse cleaning
system. The dirt status of the filter can be easily seen on
the panel. Cartridges make blasting process
automatically according to its dirt status.
Multi-Cell Suction System
With the multi-cell cutting with high-efficiency dust
extraction system, the entire machine offers an equal
amount of suction throughout the cutting area. During
the cutting process, only the flaps in the cutting zone are
opened, resulting in stronger absorption.

Shuttle Table System


Via the shuttle table system integrated into the
machine, it maximizes production and minimizes
material handling time. The shuttle table and table
change system is designed to pick up parts from the
other table and load new sheet metal while the laser
machine continues to cut. The shuttle table is fully
automatic and maintenance-free on all machines.
Hydraulic oil is not used and changing the table is fast,
soft and has low energy cost.
Table change time is 27 seconds in HD-F 3015 series, 40
seconds in HD-F 4020 series. and 45 sec in the HD-F
6020 series. Back and forth movement of all tables are
performed with Siemens servo motors.

Servo Controlled Shuttle Table


System (Option)
Servo controlled shuttle table system applied to HD-F
3015 and HD-F 4020 series machines reduces the
changeover times by 40%. For 3015 series it drops down
to 19 sec. and for 4020 series, to 29sec.

Safety Barriers
During the shuttle table change, the moving areas are
surrounded by a light barrier.
When entered to this field during the table change, the
table movement stops.
Leuze beam barriers can operate stable even at -30C°.

Scrap Boxes
Small pieces and scrap cuts fall into scrap carts below
the cutting area. There are one lateral scrap cart in each
meter. It provides savings in the occupied area with its
easily accessible structure and per meter design.

Automatic Conveyor System (Option)


The optional automatic side scrap collection conveyor
allows the fastest removal of scrap pieces from the work
area without stopping the cutting process.
These short side conveyors provide easy maintenance
and ensure trouble-free operation. It saves energy
compared to its competitors with the operation of the
conveyor just under the cutting head.

Centralized Automatic Lubrication System


Axis lubrications are controlled by centralized
lubrication system. Lubrication times are followed
according to the travel distance of the axes. Lubrication
of the axis that completes the specified movement
distance is done automatically. All the oil is sent to all
the lubrication points of the machine as needed with
the progressive oil dispensers.

Side Door
Regardless of the size of the machine, all HD-F Series
machines have side doors. When it is necessary to
intervene behind the cutting area, the operator enters
safely through this door.
The machine will not work in any way while the door is
open to eliminate accident risk.

Sheet Detection
With the automatic sheet detection feature, the length,
the width and angle of the metal sheet to be cut is
found. After the metal sheet search is done, the
program is rotated to the angle value automatically
found and it is cut.

Operator Position Advantage


DURMA fiber lasers give businesses and operators great flexibility with their unique design. With the moving control
panel positioned between the cutting area and the shuttle table, the operator controls the entire machine from one
point. Unlike competitors, the entire machine is controlled by single employee. In addition, due to the open front of
the operator, the movement area of the operator is not restricted in the layout within the enterprise.

Management of Gold LINE Interface

Protask Cutting Programs Management


Part programs of the same or different material
types/thicknesses can be placed on the same table and cut
at the desired quantity by automatic cycle. Part programs in
the task list include features such as work order change,
task cancellation, switching between work pieces, reuse of
the task list.

Cutting Restart Feature


In case the cut is interrupted for any reason (nozzle contact,
power failure, etc.), the cut restarts exactly where it
remains. Time losses in manufacturing processes are
prevented with this feature.

Maintenance Page
On DURMA HMI, the dates of the maintenance items that
need to be completed, can be tracked via separate menu.
According to their period (daily/monthly/annual), the next
maintenance date is automatically notified to the user after
the completion of the maintenance operation.

User/Durma Parameters Comparison


The feature of comparing the cutting parameters that users
changed over time with the original cutting parameters set
at the DURMA factory has been added. Laser cutting
machine users can go back to the original, quality cutting
parameters set at the Durma factory when they need to
with this feature.
Training Mode
Above DURMA HMI screen, there are help menus
explaining the use of cutting parameters.
The adaptation processes of the users to the machine are
shortened with this feature.

Following Information about Cutting Head


Information about the cutting heads such as temperature
and lens position can be easily tracked via the interface
(stop HMI) in the control unit.

Advanced optimizations: settings optimization.
Calculation of the fastest cutting and idle movement
path, protects the ceramic cutting head and prevents
sheet deformation. Th real type writing styles: Text
supported by the operating system can be applied
directly to the material to be cut. The cutting direction
can be clockwise or vice versa.
Advanced corner applications provide excellent corners
and cutting with high-quality. Joint Cutting: This feature
is especially useful for thick sheets and reduces the need
to drill holes along the cutting. Automatic input point

METALIX Terminal (Option)


With the help of MT ( Machine Terminal ) software, which is developed as a result of the work performed by Durma
and Metalix together, operators can interfere with CAD/CAM program through the control unit without the need for
a computer.

Through the new “Event History” option added to the Durma Cloud, you can get information about the current
state of your machine in the last 24 hours (event history within the panel).

You can track weekly filtered life cycles on the machine day by day with the “weekly event history” tab on the
reports page (within reports).

You can get information about “downtime, cutting time, on alert time” of the machine monthly and annually
and transfer it to excel format.

Camera, Screen And Siren System (Option)


The image obtained from the camera placed inside the cutting
area is transferred to the screen mounted on the main cover. The
angular motion of the screen allows the operator to monitor the
machine from a wider perspective.
Besides, with a siren installed on the machine, an audible and
visual warning is given when the machine gives alert for any
reason.

Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS)


In the event of a power cut, uninterrupted power supply is used to
ensure a proper control to turn off the CNC control unit, main
electrical panel, filter and cooler unit.

D-LOADER Installation System (Option)

D-Loader is a specially designed machine to pick up sheet metal from the ground and put it on the machine
tables. It is especially used in laser cutting benches. The lifting system takes the plate from the ground with the
help of vacuum pads. The rotating arm carries the plate onto the table. During this location change; the
