We can compare Mercedes-Benz with Tata Nano


Motors in many ways. For instance, Tato Nano is known as poor man’s car, but
Mercedes-Benz is known for high quality and prestigious car. Tato group is based on
India, and it is a conglomerate because of the fact that Tato Nano fulfill Indian Market
needs with many products such as heavy industry products, tea, textile, raw materials,
energy and chemicals. However, Mercedes-Benz is based on Germany, and it only
produces car and car’s equipment. Nowadays, Mercedes Benz may finally say bye-bye to
Tata. The German luxury carmaker may end the more than half-a-century-old
relationship by not renewing the paint shop tie-up with Tata Motors and erecting its
own shop.
2) As they serve in many sectors such as producing steering mill, textile etc. they are
seem to be responsible for the country's first private-sector producer. However, it
dismissed by some as a poor man's car due to targeting that segment of the market.
Since they serve as distributor and producer in many sector TATA motor has
enormous network in the market. That previous marketing acquisition brought TATA
motor a new era. Therefore, they can easily began global marketing phase. As the
globalization increases, their new creation of marketing and planning phase, TATA
increased their product portfolio and their income from the merchandised goods. To
briefly clarify the competitive atmosphere of TATA motor, in industrial producer
market in the global market their competitors had huge capital power to dominate the
market as monopoly. But, within the strategy of TATA motor as segmenting the
costumers into parts made them to reach success. So, we could say that their network
and marketing skills change the landscape of globalization.
3) By studying the external environment, locating an industry with high potential for
above average returns, formulating a strategy for the according industry, developing, or
acquiring assets to implement said strategy and use them as and their skills as strength.
That way they can achieve greater returns. As the firms uses base models to increase
their vision to pursue the strategic competitiveness and above average returns the
consumption of I/O model is that firm's external environment should have more
influence on the strategy to understand the effect of industrial characteristics.
4) Analyzing local and foreign companies growing in the sector well has been the biggest
helper of Tata Motors in growing. Tata Motors, which acquired these companies before
they completed their valuation process, had the opportunity to open up to the foreign
market. In addition, they made a significant profit by selling these companies, which
they bought before completing their valuation, to the giant companies of the sector. Tata
Motors had the opportunity to analyze the process well and position its investments
correctly, thanks to its command of the market.
