On the other hand, the quality of life in Nueva Venecia, Cienaga Grande is quite
complicated for the local inhabitants. According to data from Señal Colombia, this place
has about 300 wooden houses and about 2,000 inhabitants. Finding themselves living on
a river and in houses built of wood that has been around for many years, the materials
are deteriorating and a catastrophe could happen at any moment in one of these houses.
The constant rains in the area are also a constant danger for the inhabitants due to the
growth of the river. Also, we can see in this place many people swimming in the river
for fun or health, which is in terrible conditions of contamination. However, it is to be
recognized that the people there live happily in their current conditions. These factors
make the quality of life in the place worse and worse, in some cases forcing the people
who live there to forcibly desert their homes.

that could take the place of having more intervention and help from the state.)

By last, it is possible to think of Nueva Venecia, Cienaga Grande as a tourist site with
great potential for attraction. Culture, happiness, and union are characteristics of the
community that lives here. They even have their court built over the river. If the state
decided to have a greater intervention in the development of the place, it could be a
place of interest such as Santa Cruz del Islote, which has the same conditions but is
much more beautiful and touristic, because the State intervenes more. However, Nueva
Venecia is a site that is difficult to access, where the only way to get there is by the
river, by boat. According to the Red Bus blog, the cost to get to Nueva Venecia is
approximately 75-95 dollars, compared to Santa Cruz del Islote where it is possible to
go with only 30 dollars and the stay is not very expensive. If the State took advantage
and helped this tourist site, it would be completely different. This site is worth it for
being a town on the river completely, with very happy and united people.
