Impact Hub Amsterdam (IHA) has a community of nearly 500 social entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and
other social innovators.

TONY’S CHOCOLONEY: Tony’s Chocoloney is a confectionary product that fights for slave-free
chocolate and aims to eradicate poverty trap that leads to illegal child labor and modern slavery in the
cacao industry.

PLASTIC WHALE: Plastic Whale is the world’s first professional ‘plastic fishing’ company and a
social enterprise with a mission of plastic-free land & sea.

SWINK: Swink is a unique internet agency that hires online specialists who are on the autism
spectrum. Thanks to a Buy Social event organised by Amsterdam Impact, the agency was able to
connect with PwC and it led to a great partnership.
A BEAUTIFUL MESS: A Beautiful Mess is an initiative of the Refugee Company. Company offers
people with a refugee background a safe place towards economic and social independence
throughapprenticeship programs.

REFLOWER: Reflower is an Amsterdam platform where participants, both consumers and


companies, can rent artificial flowers, so that fewer fresh flowers are grown, flown in and thrown
away.

THE GROENE LOKET: The Groene Loket activates residents to make the living environment
greener, cool and make it rainproof. They support residents with advice, subsidy applications,
purchase and construction of green roofs and facade gardens.

SPIN AI: Spin AI hires people from the autistic spectrum for data annotation services in the field of
artificial intelligence. Spin AI has a social and technological impact and contributes to an inclusive
society and economy.

STUDIO VALKENIER: Studio Valkenier is investigating whether functionless roofs can be used to
grow food: the Food Roof. With the help of aquaponics, crops such as tomatoes and peppers can be
grown all year round without soil.

EMPLOYMENT AGENCY ZON: Employment agency ZON focuses on the temporary employment
and secondment of people with a distance to the labor market. In this way, homeless people,
exprisoners, status holders, etc. are helped to actively participate in society.

HELPDIGITAL: Helpdigital facilitates a tablet, a SIM card and remote support to older people who
do not have access to digital resources so that they can be reconnected with their loved ones via video
calling.

VINI MINI: Vini Mini provides information about the early introduction of allergens to babies in
order to prevent food allergies. They do this by providing information through maternity offices,
obstetric practices, pregnancy clubs and health clinics in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam Capital House is an annual event organized by Capital House. On a mission to create a
closer ecosystem, actively supporting the growth of founders & entrepreneurs shaping Amsterdam's
future.

The Young Impactmakers is a community of talented young people who want to do good while doing
business, either by starting their own impact business or by collaborating with organisations. The
Network provides training in social entrepreneurship for people between the ages of 20 and 30.

Starters4Communities strives for a social entrepreneurial society, formed bottom-up by changemakers.


Organization helps young professionals to grow in social entrepreneurship with training, practical
experience and our close-knit community.

INVESTMENT READY PROGRAM

Investment Ready Program is a unique 5-month accelerator for impact entrepreneurs, strengthening
the strategy and raising the necessary funding. Program provides a peer-learning program that consists
of 12 workshop days. A cohort of 10 to 12 selected participants engage in a systematic review of their
business strategy.

THE AMSTERDAM CITY FELLOWSHIP ACCELERATION PROGRAMME


Program gives selected social entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop their innovative business
concepts. The participants receive expert guidance and mentoring from Amsterdam Impact’s extensive
network. At the end of the programme, the City of Amsterdam purchased a pilot project from
VraagApp

ACE

ACE is the university incubator of UvA, VU, HvA and AUMC. Organization supports students,
academics and tech professionals who are starting or growing their business. Its help consists of
training & coaching and introductions to our extensive network of industry leaders, business
professionals, investors and service providers.

STARTUP VILLAGE

Startup Village is a COMMUNİTY working space at Amsterdam Science Park- the place to be for
innovative high-tech and science-based startups. The offices at Startup Village are made out of
second-hand sea containers to give the static Amsterdam Science Park area a nice raw edge.

Startup in Residence (SiR) is an incubation programme that connects entrepreneurs with key social
and urban challenges in Amsterdam to stimulate innovation. If entrepreneurs find themselves lacking a
specific focus, Startup in Residence is a 6 months program that works alongside the local government
to seek out ways.

BOOKING BOOSTER ACCELERATOR PROGRAMME

Booking Booster accelerator programme is committed to supporting organizations that are working on
solutions to make tourism more sustainable and program shares updates around the programme as
they come.

YEARLY COMPETITIONS

Many leading business consultancies such as Accenture, KPMG and PWC run yearly competitions for
social impact startups that offer investment prizes in the form of agency

hours.

SOCIAL RETURN POLICY

The College of Mayor and Alderpersons uses a tailored approach to procurement. This approach forms
part of the City’s support policy for social firms. The support strategy includes an investment fund for
social firms, the provision of non-financial support and the promotion of procurement from social
firms by municipality suppliers as a form of social return.

ZIP CODE LOTTERY : GREEN CHALLENGE

Programme is one of the largest competitions in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship. The winner
receives €500,000 to further develop the product or service, and to bring it to market. The runner-up
receives €200,000 and the three other finalists receive €100,000
THE CHIVAS VENTURE

The Chivas Venture competition also offers a €1 million prize fund for entrepreneurs looking to tackle
social issues. The yearly final is always held in Amsterdam. Venture has improved over 3.3 million
lives in more than 65 countries giving away $6,000
