DOROTHY'S SONG 1
some place where there
isn't any trouble, I wonder
if there's such a place
there must be
it's not a place you can get
to by a boat or train, It's far
faraway. Beyond the
moon, beyond the rain
when all the world is a
hopeless jumble
and the raindrops tumble all
around
heaven opens a magic lane
when all the clouds darken up
the sky way
there's a rainbow high way too
be found
leading from your window pane
to a place behind the
sun
just step beyond
the rain
somewhere over the rainbow
way up high
there's a land
that I heard of once in a
Lullyby
somewhere over the rainbow
skies are blue
and the dream you dare
really do come true
someday I'll wish upon
a star
and wake up where the
clouds are far behind me
where troubles melt like
lemondrops
away above the chimney
tops
that's where you'll find me
somewhere over the
rainbow
blue birds fly
birds fly over the rainbow
why, then, oh what can't I
if happy little
blue birds fly
beyond the rainbow
why, oh, why
can't I

SONG
Come out, Come out
Wherever you're
All meet the young
Lady, who fell from a star
She fell from the sky
She fell very far
And Kansas, She says
Is the name of the star
Munchkins
Kansas, she says, is the name of
the star
She brings you good news
Or haven't you heard
When she fell out of
Kansas a miracle occured
DOROTHY:
It really was no miracle What
Happened was just this
The wind began to switch the
House to pitch
And suddenly the hinge
Started to unhitch
Just then the witch, to
Satisfy an itch
When Flying on her broomstick,
Thumbing for a hitch
A BRAGART:
And oh, what happened then
Was rich
SEVERAL MUNCHKINS:
The house began to pitch
The kitchen took a stitch
It landed on the Wicked-Witch
In the middle of a ditch
Which was a healthy situation
For the Wicked-Witch
ALL MUNCHKINS:
The house began to pitch
The kitchen took a slitch
It landed on the Wicked-Witch
In the middle of a ditch
Which was not a healthy situation
For a Wicked-Witch
Who began to twitch
And was reduced to just a stitch
Of what was once the
Wicked-Witch
BELINDA: No, it’s not her. It's not the sister of Wicked Witch of East and she’s the
worse than the other one.
BELINDA: Who?
WICKED-WITCH: (SCREAMS)
WICKED-WITCH: Oh! I recognize her. Who wears the Ruby-Slippers with socks

SONG 4
SCARECROW'S SONG
SCARECROW:
Do you think if I went with you this wizard
could give me some brains
DOROTHY:
I couldn't say
SCARECROW:
Won't you take me with you?
DOROTHY:
Of Course I Will, Scarecrow!
SCARECROW:
Alright To OZ!
DOROTHY:
To OZ!
DOROTHY & SCARECROW
We're off to see the wizard
The wonderful Wizard of OZ!
We heard he is a wiz of wiz
If Ever Oh ever a wiz, then OZ
The Wizard of OZ is one
Because
Because, Because
Because, Because
Because
Because of the wonderful
Things he does
We're off to see the
Wizard
The wonderful Wizard of OZ!
SCARECROW:
Shoo! Scadaddle! Scram
I can't even
Scare a crow
The crows come from
Miles around to eat in
My fields and laugh
In my face
CROWS:
Said a Scarecrow swinging
On a pole
To a black birdsitting on a fence
SCARECROW:
Oh the Lord gave
Me a soul but...
Forgot to give me
Commonsense
CROWS:
Said the Black bird Well, Well, Well
What in Thunder would you do
With Commonsense?
Said the Scarecrow, I would be
Pleasin'
Just to reason out the reason
Of the which men and that
If I had an ounce of
Commonsense
CROWS:
If I had an ounce of Commonsense
DOROTHY:
What would you do Scarecrow?
SCARECROW:
I would while away the hours
Confirming with the flower
Consultin' with the rain
And my head I'd be scratching
While my thoughts
Were busy hatching
If I only had a brain
I'll unravel every
Riddle
For any individ'le
In trouble or in pain
DOROTHY:
With the thoughts you'd be thinking
You could be another Lincoln
SCARECROW:
If I only had a brain
Oh, I could tell you why
The oceans near the shore
DOROTHY:
You could think of things
You never thunk before
SCARECROW:
And then I'd sit
And think some more
SCARECROW:
I would not be just a nuffin
My head all full of stuffin'
My heart all full of pain
I would dance and be
Merry
Life would be a ding-a-derry
If I only had brain
DOROTHY:
Well, that was wonderful, Why if
Our Scarecrow back in Kansas
Could do that, the crows would
Be scared to pieces
SCARECROW:
They would
DOROTHY:
UHHH
SCARECROW:
Where's Kansas?
DOROTHY;
That's where I live
And I want to get back
There so badly, I'm going all
The way to the Emerald
City to get the Wizard of
OZ to help me
SCARECROW:
You're gonna see a wizard
DOROTHY:
Yup
SCARECROW:
Do you think if I went with
You, this wizard would
Give me some brains?
DOROTHY:
I couldn't say. But even if he didn't
You'd be no worse off than you're
Now
SCARECROW:
Yeah, that's true
Oh, I could tell you why
The oceans near the shore
I could think of things
I never thunk before
DOROTHY:
And then he'd sit and think
Some more
CROWS:
Can, Can
SCARECROW:
Gosh, it would be awful
Pleasin'
To reason out the reason
For things I can't explain
Then perhaps I'd deserve
Ya'
And he ever worthy of every ya'
I could dance and be merry
Life would be a ding-a-derry

SONG 5
TIN-MAN'S
TREES:
Said a Tin-Man rattling his
Jibs
To a strawman sad and,
Weary eyed
TIN-MAN:
Oh the Smith gave me tin ribs
But forgot to put a heart inside
TREES:
Then he banged his hollow chest
And cried
TIN-MAN:
When a man's an empty
Kettle
He should be on his mettle
And yet I'm torn apart
Just because I'm presumin'
That I could be kind-a-human
If I only had a heart
I'd be tender, i'd be
Gentle
And awful sentimental
Regarding love and art
I'd be friends with thesparrows
And the boy that shoots
the arrow
If I only had a heart
Picture me - a balcony
Above a voice sings low
TREES:
Wherfore art thou, Romeo?
TIN-MAN:
I hear a beat
DOROTHY:
How sweet?
TIN-MAN:
Just to register emotion
Jealous, Devotion
And really feel the part
I could stay young and
Chipper
And I'd lock it with a zipper
If I only had a heart
Oh, I may be presuming
that I could be kind-a-human
I'd be friends with sparrows
And the boy that shoots the
arrows
DOROTHY:
You could stay young and Chipper
TIN-MAN:
And I'd lock it with a Zipper
If I only
DOROTHY:
If you only
TREES:
If you only
DOROTHY: Why don't you come along with us to the Wizard of OZ! He will give
you a heart.

your arms up, Eyes Up the bag of hay.
LION TO DOROTHY: I will get you.
LION: (WEEPS) what you did that for, I didn't bite you.
DOROTHY: Well Of course not. Pick yourself up! He's a big coward!
LION: Yeah I don't have courage at all. I sometimes scare myself up. Look at the
circles under my eyes. I haven't been slept since last week. I’m scared of the
circus.
SCARECROW: Oh if you want courage, why don't you come with us to the Wizard
of OZ! He will give us heart, a brain, the courage and a home to you. (SCRECROW
POINTS EVERYONE)
LION: Once when I was a cub, my father took me to the top of a mountain and
