Task Performance Entrepreneurial Mind

Using fears and anxieties as fuel.

I recently joined in the 2022 talent search in STI Lipa. I was a candidate for Mr. STI and I am not really
expecting it. I am not confident and I have a fear of facing many people on the stage. I am really stressed
in the preparation until the main event and I am so anxious that time and I don`t know if I will be able to
perform or not because it is my very first time participating in that kind of event. I just went on the stage
and then perform. I didn`t know that I can turn my fear into excitement and I just discovered it while
walking on the stage. I just enjoyed the event and my anxiousness turn into energy that I used to perform.
I didn`t won in the event but it was a great experience and I learned discovered a lot of my potentials.

Seek first to understand, then to be understood

It can be applied in different scenarios based on my experiences. I always seek first to understand before
I do something and then be understood. I always try to understand what someone is really saying to me
before I say something for him/her to understand because I don’t want to say something that might
confuse them and turn it into misunderstanding and I always shows to the speaker that I am carefully
listening because I know how it feels when someone understands you or not. Additionally, I always seek
to understand especially when someone gave me a task or something to do. I tend to listen carefully
before I actually start because I want to understand first what to do before I begin and present it.

Sharpen the saw.

Having a balanced program in four areas of life has been my habit since the pandemic. I learned how to
take care of myself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually when I was really stressed and I badly
want to cope with it. I learned to exercise, I sometimes go to gym or use body weight exercises, run every
morning, l learned to calm myself meditate and be less anxious in crucial moments like due dates and so
on. I use sports like basketball to relieve my stress. Furthermore, I keep track on what I eat and I am
controlling myself with eating unhealthy foods. However, I can`t always do all of it in the best way it can
be. Sometimes I still get pressured but I know now how to cope with it and I am working and moving
forward with it.
