BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Ice candy-is a type of frozen refreshment ideal to beat the heat of summer. The two
common varieties of ice candy are fruits and chocolate. Almost any fruit can used to
make ice candy. Oranges, mango, and melon are among the most commonly used.

In this study the group aims to innovate a product out of kalabasa as an ingredient for
ice candy

The Latin name of squash is Cucurbita. Scientific names of some species are:
Cucurbita pepo, Cucurbita mixta, and Cucurbita maschata.

The benefits of pumpkin : weight loss – pumpkin seeds have 12 grams of protein and 12
grams of fiber per cup, making them a powerhouse snack for people on a diet.

This evaluative research tries to find a different way of serving kalabasa cheese ice
candy. It can be a unique and enticing dessert especially to dessert lovers. This study is
all about kalabasa cheese ice candy.

Since this is a new way of serving kalabasa cheese ice candy, it may have different
sensory quantities like its aroma, taste, texture and color. This study was conducted to
test and evaluate the sensory qualities of this product as well as the acceptability of
each sensory parameter.

Sensory evaluation in this study refers to how respondents perceive the different
sensory qualities of the product through food testing.

Perceptions of respondents may also very According to their preferences in food, Drink
and desserts, it

May also be affected by the life Style and tradition of the respondent.

product “Kalabasa ice candy” like the taste, aroma, smell and the color.

The researchers 50 students randomly selected respondents from Baybay City Senior
Highschool from the ABM strand.

Costing and nutritional valve of the product are not included in this study.
Significance of the study

This study cutitled sensory qualities of Kalabasa cheese ice candy aims to provide benefits to
the following individuals.

Students – to create an invovated made out of a local root crop that will became a source of
income

Children – they will became familiar to the new product that can be sold within the school that
is nutritious and inexpensive. Kalabasa cheese ice candy give benefits to children since this
product is rich in sourced of vitamins and minerals and calcium.

Community – can became their new source of income for some particular people such as the
famous and their household.
