The Marshall Plan was a large-scale economic aid in 1947-1951 from the United States which aimed to
rebuild the economic strength of countries in Europe after World War II ended.

The purpose of the United States is to provide economic assistance to developing countries to expand its
ideological influence. The United States was very responsive to the situation in the Asian region. The
United States is also trying to help the conditions of countries in the Asian region through economic and
military assistance .A senior UN official says Africa needs a new 'Marshall Plan' to boost development
and curb the flow of migrants to Europe. Philippe Douste-Blazy - a former French foreign minister who is
now the UN Under-Secretary General - described the situation as a 'human cruelty'.

He told the BBC he was witnessing the Mediterranean migrant crisis firsthand. While accompanying a
newcomer's patrol boat, Douste-Blazy also witnessed the arrivals and others before her eyes. UN
officials called on African leaders to channel oil and gas revenues into development projects in their own
countries. About 107,500 migrants headed for the EU border last month.

Border control in Greece, Italy, and Hungary had difficulty dealing with refugees who came not only
from, but also the Middle East, and Africa.

The Marshall Plan or Marshall Plan was a United States initiative to help Europe rebuild its economy
after the Second World War ended.
