Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the
objectives, necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and
remedial activities may be done for developing content knowledge and competencies. These are

These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that
students will learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the students which you
can infer from formative assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing
students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice their learning, question their learning

E. Discussing new concepts What are the types of Clipping?

1. Backclipping (Apocopation)  is the loss of one or more syllables at the end of a


word. 
Examples:
abs (abdominal muscle)
app (application)
bi (bisexual)
bra (brassiere)

2.Foreclipping (Aphaeresis) refers to the omission of one or more syllables at the


beginning of a word. 
Examples:
phone (telephone)
sample (example)
coon (raccoon)

3.Middle Clipping (Syncope) retains the middle part of a word, getting rid of the
beginning and ending parts.
Examples:
flu (influenza)
tec (detective)

4.Complex Clipping is the shortening of a compound word by preserving and


combining its initial parts (or first syllables).
Examples:
sci-fi (science  fiction)
midcult (middlebrow culture)
sitcom (situation comedy)
