1. MMS Orientation August 18, 2022 I will have a homeroom class I was able to meet several students
Night and 6 art classes – and their parents. This gave me the
opportunity to communicate that I

2. Fun Friday October 21, 2022 Volleyball tournaments I learned how important sports are
Volleyball Game between teachers and students, to this entire community and that
all grades. Eight graders won. we have several very good
volleyball players in all grades. I
observed the rapport built between
the students and faculty members.

3. Project GO October 18, 2022 I am a substitute teacher for I have learned more about some of

October 27, 2022 in. Many of the students who stay

hard workers but many come from
non-traditional homes and are being
raised by family members other
than their parents. I have gotten to
know them on a more personal and
unstructured level.

5. Gear Up for College November 4, 2022 MMS is a recipient of a grant
to help prepare students from
the middle school level for
college and types of financial
aid available.
I learned that parents and other
teachers are interested in what their
students are doing in art class with a
new teacher who is new to the
community as well. I am making
efforts to be accepted and respected
in the local community by sharing
student work.
I learned that several students
showed an interest in possibly
attending college and several 8th
graders went on a field trip to visit
West Virginia State University in
Institute, WV on the day after this
assembly.
