Dear Hiring Committee:

The opportunity to work as a Basketball Scout within the youth academy at Baskonia intrigues and appeals
me. I believe that my 11+ years of experience as a basketball player, my experience as a coach for players
between the ages of 8 and 12, and my unquestionable passion for this sport make me a strong candidate for
this position. 

During the years that I have played basketball, one of the things that I enjoyed the most was the film and
scouting sessions, where we were able to identify the threats and weaknesses of the other team. When my
brother played basketball games, I always looked at all the players on the field and tried to think who would
be the best player in a few years. A few years ago, I went to a tournament hosted in Madrid and I watched
Luka Doncic playing for Real Madrid. Since the very beginning, I knew that his abilities and talent were
unique. Nowadays, he is considered as one of the best basketball players in the world.

During my time as a coach and as an English teacher, one of the things I enjoyed the most was trying to hunt
down great talent. I not only focused on what my players or students were capable of doing at that moment
but also tried to see beyond, tried to draw a projection in my mind. In short, during my life, the idea of
looking for great talents - people who can have a great projection -  has always been present. Bearing in
mind that the Baskonia youth academy aims to focus predominantly on players between the ages of 10 and
16, I believe that this innate ability, coupled with my experience with children in this age range, my great
communication skills, and all the contacts that I have acquired in the world of basketball are crucial skills to
be able to achieve the goals of the youth academy.

Dynamism, creativity, hard work, and enthusiasm are aspects that define me as a person. When something
matters to me I do whatever it takes to get it and work day and night if necessary. Basketball is my passion
and working on something related to this sport has always been a dream of mine. Scouting for talent is
something I have in me and the skills I have obtained over the years of experience can benefit Baskonia´s
youth academy. Being a student-athlete has also helped me understand the importance of making the most
of every minute. Time management combined with organization is a crucial mix to be successful in any
business. On the other hand, being the captain of my team for 4 seasons in a row has helped me not only to
develop my leadership skills, but also to understand the importance of work ethic, perseverance and
dedication when it comes to achieving goals. My experience as a student-athlete could definitely help
Baskonia´s youth academy to achieve challenging goals in short periods of time.
