Lesson 8 - Becoming and Remaining a Professional Teacher

Activity 1

Do you agree that the quality of teachers in the country is dependent on the kind of formation that they have during their
pre-service training? Why?
➢ I agree that the quality of teachers in the country is dependent
on the kind of formation that they have during the pre-service
training, as educators need to follow rules and also for them to
obtain proper and formal training, pedagogical skills and
professional skills. Also for the educators to obtain more
knowledge, skills and what professionalism attitude is.
➢ But at some point, in my own opinion I don’t think that the
quality of a teacher should be dependent on what the pre-service
training teach them what they need to obtain, I agree on what
should be obtain is so important but for me I think the quality
is what on the teacher/professional teacher should not be
dependent on that. A teacher should have his/her own freedom to
make a better understanding/learning for his/her students but
depending on what the pre-service teaches them to do.

Activity 2

A teacher applicant submitted himself/herself for evaluation and obtained a rating of 69.25. Can his or her name be included
in the Registry of Qualified Applicants (RQA)?
➢ No, because according to the scoring of the RQA the applicant who
scored 70 above is the cut-off score to be qualified in the
inclusion of RQA.
