- Wondering and asking questions to determine the message of a Scripture reading with others
- Discussing how a Scripture passage might inspire a person’s actions

Church for the World
Supporting Doctrinal and Content Elaborations:
Sub strand
- People who love God, believe in Jesus and follow his example by trying to be like him, are called Christians.
Disciples of Jesus
- The school I belong to is a Catholic school; Catholics are a group of Christians.
- Some of the ways Christians show their faith and try to live like Jesus are: by including others, forgiving people, showing love, being
kind and praying with God.
- Some Christians are given the special name of ‘Saint’ because they are very good examples of being Christian. Some schools and
parishes are named after saints and those communities can learn about how that saint followed Jesus
Knowledge Strand Enduring Understanding: All people have a right to be included in community
Moral Life
Supporting Doctrinal and Content Elaborations:
Sub strand
- People have a right to be included at school, work, home and in the community.
Moral Decision Making
- Being included involves being listened to and contributing to decisions that affect them (eg. In the class, the home, the community)
- Sometimes there are people who are not included, and the Christian response is to recognise this and act on it; examples of these
actions include:
o Welcoming all people
o Encouraging all people to share their opinions and ideas
o Supporting all people to participate
o Sharing resources and time
o Offering friendship
