For the Facilitator:

Welcome to the Empowerment Technologies Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on

Current State of ICT.

This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from
public institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners meet the
standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and economic
constraints in schooling.

This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners
acquire the needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and
circumstances.

As a facilitator you are expected to orient the learners on how to use this module. You also need
to keep track of the learners' progress while allowing them to manage their own
learning. Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners as they do
the tasks included in the module.

Current State of ICT.

This module walks you how to take advantage of the different technologies that you can apply in
different aspects of your life.

Information, Communication and Technology has always provided great features to help
us work on the Internet that has become a major part of the personal improvement. Hence, as
you use technologies to communicate information some challenges may arise along the way.

This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for guided and
independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled to process the contents of
the learning resource while being an active learner.

What I Need to Know

This module will assist you in encouraging the learners to compare and contrast nuances
of varied online platforms, sites and content to best achieve specific class objectives or address
situational challenges.

For the learner

Empowerment technology plays a vital role in our daily lives, especially to the rising generations
to prepare, to teach the value and to introduce us to the proper world of ICT (Information and
Communication Technologies). This module will help you compare and contrast nuances
of varied online platforms, sites and content to best achieve specific class objectives or address
situational challenges.

At the end of this module, you are expected to:

3. learn the different Trends in ICT and give its importance in our daily lives..

Information and Communication Technology deals with the use of different communication
technologies such as mobile phones, telephone, Internet, etc. to locate, save, send, and edit
information. These are digital forms of communication including tools available in the internet,
such as blogging and e-mail, as well as computer software, such as Microsoft
PowerPoint and Word

What is It

ICT (information and communications technology - or technologies) is an umbrella term

that includes any communication device or application, encompassing: radio, television,
cellular phones, computer and network hardware and software, satellite systems and so on, as
well as the various services and applications associated with them, such as
videoconferencing and distance learning. ICTs are often spoken of in a particular context, such
as ICTs in education, health care, or libraries.

time it’s viewed. For example, the page may change with the time of day. The user
that accesses the webpage, or the type of user interaction.

Facebook is a social networking site that makes it easy for you to connect and share with family

What I Have Learned

more important it is.
