Archie participated in a memory matching game with nursery rhyme pictures. He confidently identified a hummingbird and dragonfly in the pictures. He matched the animal pictures in pairs and groups. He noticed colors, shapes, and actions of the animals. The educator observed Archie using memory skills and identifying features and types of animals. To further support Archie, more memory and puzzle games will be provided.

down at an experience table and gather some pieces for a memory game. This memory game is associated with one of the nursery rhymes from nursery rhyme week.
We flipped them all over, so they were face
down. We then went through them and matched up the ones we could do. When you spotted one of the bird pictures, you very confidently shared that it was a hummingbird. I was very impressed that you were able to identify this bird. You were also able too confidently identify the dragonfly. During your matching, what I observed was that you were matching the animals in pairs and groups of fours. Throughout this you were chatting away about the different things you could see in the pictures. Some of the things you noticed were the colours and shapes and the actions that the animals were doing.
Learning and where to next:
During this experience I observed you using your memory skills and developing this further. I also observed you identifying features and types of animals. Through identifying features and types of animals you were also engaging with colour and shape identification. To support and extend you with memory and puzzle-based games I aim to continue providing memory and puzzle experiences.
