What is Gas?

-gas is a substance or matter in a state in which it will expand freely to

fill the whole of a container, having no fixed shape (unlike a solid) and
no fixed volume (unlike a liquid)

What are the risks of gases?

-There are a number of risks when using gas such as explosion from
damaged, overheated or poorly maintained cylinders, pipes equipment or
appliances. There is also the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and
burns caused by contact with flame or hot surfaces.

Common gas hazards

-Fire
-Explosion
-Chemical burns
-Poisoning
-Cold burn
You're undoubtedly aware that one of the three states of matter is gas. However,
unlike the other two states of matter, solids and liquids, gases have no defined
volume outside of the container they're in. At standard temperature and pressure,
many elements exist as gases, whereas other elements and compounds can become
gases under certain conditions. Take a look at a few samples of gas in various
settings, categorized by gas kind.

-Certain elements exist as gases at standard temperature and pressure. When
the pressure is changed and is higher or lower, or when the temperature is
changed and is higher or lower, the element may exist in a different form
such as in liquid form or solid form

Pure gases come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They can be made up of single
atoms, such as neon, or atomic gases or noble gases. Mixed gases, on the other
hand, are made up of several different types of pure gas. The atmosphere of
the Earth, for example, contains a diverse mix of gases, including oxygen and
other atoms that are emitted.

Examples of Pure and Mixed Gases

When toxic gases are breathed in or when individuals are exposed to
them, they can cause injury. In some situations, inhaling a hazardous
gas for barely a few seconds might cause serious harm or death. In
other cases, inhaling a harmful gas may cause you to feel nauseous or
light-headed.

list of gases considered to be toxic.

PURE INERT GAS - Inert gas asphyxiation is a form

of asphyxiation which results from breathing a physiologically inert
gas in the absence of oxygen, or a low amount of oxygen

MIXED GASES - Each component of the gas phase of a

combination can be treated separately. The temperature and volume of
each component of the mixture are the same. (Keep in mind that gases
expand to fill the volume of their containers; gases in a combination do
the same.) Each gas, however, has its own pressure.
PURE CO2 - it is a chemical compound composed two oxygen
atoms covalent bonded to a single carbon atom. It is a gas at standard
temperature and pressure and exists in Earth's atmosphere as a gas.

PURE NITROGEN - The purity of a sample of nitrogen gas is

determined by the percentage/concentration of pure nitrogen in it. For
gas to be classified as high purity, it must possess at least 99.998 percent
nitrogen while lower purity nitrogen gas usually contains a higher
proportion of impurities.
