TERMS DEFINITION / MEANING FORMULA


Electromagnet A temporary magnet made by winding a coil of insulated wire round a soft
iron core
A temporary magnet when current flow through a conductor
Magnetic field A region round a current – carrying conductor in which a magnetic force acts
A region where magnetic material experience force
Catapult field The resultant magnetic field due to the combination of the magnetic field
due to the current in the conductor and the external magnetic field
