LOADING DATA AND PARAMETERS:

Heavy Vehicles Shed -12mx24m

Loading parameters proposed to be considered on these buildings shall be as under.

I. GRAVITY LOADS:

A. DEAD LOADS
Self-weight of the structural members will be calculated based on the following properties:
Density of reinforced concrete: 25.0 kN/Cu.m

Density of plain concrete: 22.0 kN/Cu.m

Density of steel: 78.5 kN/ Cu.m

Density of floor finishes/ plasters: 20.0 kN/ Cu.m

Density of Bricks: 19.0 kN/ Cu.m

Other dead loads due to stationary building elements, which arise due to walls, filling in sunken areas etc. shall be
accounted for based on architectural drawings.

A. LIVE LOADS

ROOF & CANOPY 0.75 KN/m2

B. COLLATERAL LOADS

ROOF 0.25 KN/m2

II) Wind & Seismic Loads:

A. Wind Loads:

Wind loads will be calculated in accordance with IS 875: Part 3 – 2015 corresponding to basic wind velocity of 39 m/sec.

Design wind speed Vz = Vbx K1x K2xK3

Vb =39 m/sec
K1 (risk coefficient) = 1.0 (for 50 yrs mean probable design life)
K2 = for Terrain Category 2. Value varies with height. Refer Table 2 of IS: 875 (III)
K3 (Topography factor) =1
Wind Pressure (pz) at height ‘z’ = 0.6Vz2
Design Wind Pressure (pd) = Kd x Ka x Kc x pz
External Pressure Coefficients As per Table 5 & 6 of IS:875 (III)
Internal Pressure Coefficients +/- 0.50 (Pressure & Suction)

Along length of the building, wind load shall be transferred through struts / purlins and cross bracings only. Diaphragm
action of sheeting shall not be considered.
A. Seismic Loads:

Seismic loads shall be calculated in accordance with IS: 1893 – 2016 corresponding to Zone
Design Horizontal
Seismic Coefficient (Ah) =
Where,
Z = Zone factor
I = Importance factor
R = Response Reduction Factor

Average response acceleration coefficient shall be calculated for the building depending on its time-period as per soil type.
OMRF shall be considered for Steel frames.

iii) Crane Loads - NOT APPLICABLE

Electromech/Demach
Approximate loads for design are as below
Crane Type Top Running
Operation Type Pendant
Crane Capacity MT
Bridge Weight MT
Hoist / Trolley Weight MT
Wheel Load MT
Wheel base MT
