PART-C- DESIGN & BUILDING CODES:
Heavy Vehicles Shed -12mx24m
IS:875 – Part I Code of Practice for design loads for buildings & structures – Dead Loads
IS 875 -Part -II Code of Practice for design loads for buildings & structures – Imposed Loads
Loading Codes
IS:875-Part III Code of Practice for design loads for buildings & structures – Wind Loads
IS 875 (Part -4) Code of Practice for design loads for buildings & structures - Snow loads
IS 875 (Part -5) Special loads and load combinations
I. GRAVITY LOADS:
A. DEAD LOADS
Self-weight of the structural members will be calculated based on the following properties:
Density of reinforced concrete: 25.0 kN/Cu.m
Other dead loads due to stationary building elements, which arise due to walls, filling in sunken areas etc. shall be
accounted for based on architectural drawings.
A. LIVE LOADS
B. COLLATERAL LOADS
A. Wind Loads:
Wind loads will be calculated in accordance with IS 875: Part 3 – 2015 corresponding to basic wind velocity of 39 m/sec.
Along length of the building, wind load shall be transferred through struts / purlins and cross bracings only. Diaphragm
action of sheeting shall not be considered.
A. Seismic Loads:
Seismic loads shall be calculated in accordance with IS: 1893 – 2016 corresponding to Zone
Design Horizontal
Seismic Coefficient (Ah) =
Where,
Z = Zone factor
I = Importance factor
R = Response Reduction Factor
Average response acceleration coefficient shall be calculated for the building depending on its time-period as per soil type.
OMRF shall be considered for Steel frames.
Load Combinations
The following load combinations would be considered in this Proposed Framed Building with reference to IS 800-2007
1. DL – Dead Load
2. LL – Live Load
3. CL – Crane Load
4. EL – Earthquake Load
5. WL – Wind Load
DEFLECTION LIMITS:
Deflection limits shall be as per IS-800-2007 Table 6
