KARIZA PERDIDO BSN 2 SECTION 1

Activity # 4

Topic: Feeding the Adult

The adult is faced with problems related to aging like the onset of chronic degenerative diseases. He/she
has to maintain DBW and keep his/her blood cholesterol and blood sugar at normal levels. But because
of decreasing BMR and PA, it is sometimes hard to accomplish these. His/ he diet has to be nutritious to
thwart other diet related diseases but fats and sugars should be restricted

2. Prepare the assigned sample menu (lunch meal) for class presentation.

3. Discuss case assessment and tray presentation in your worksheet giving emphasis on
the rationale of the diet given.
• Adults who consume a diet high in nutrients had a lower risk of developing obesity,
cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes, as well as a longer life expectancy overall.
People who suffer from chronic conditions may find that adopting healthier eating habits
enables them to better control their symptoms and prevents further complications. The
most efficient strategies to eat healthily are to increase the number of fruits and vegetables
in one's diet while simultaneously decreasing the number of processed meals and sugar-
sweetened beverages one consumes.

4. Submit individual worksheet @ LMS

Question for discussion:
