Note: For the application of this section, the equivalent UNE standards may be used to replace
the IEC standards.

9.3 Terminology

9.3.1 Data center or data processing center: It is that space where the necessary resources
for the information processing of an organization are concentrated.

9.4 General requirements

9.4.1 The design and installation of data centers must comply with the provisions of this
section and the ANSI / TIA-942 standard.

9.4.2 In matters of design, construction, operation, maintenance, repair, modification,

inspection and term of operation, the Superintendency may allow the use of
technologies other than those established in this technical specification, provided that
the level of security that the text normative contemplates. These technologies must be
technically supported in national or foreign standards, codes or specifications, as well as
internationally recognized engineering recommended practices, or be part of testing
facilities for new technology. For this, the installer must present the project and a
complete copy of the current version of the standard, code or foreign specification used,
duly translated, when applicable, as well as any other antecedent requested by the
Superintendency.

9.5 Equipment connection

9.5.1 The equipment that must be permanently connected must do so through the plugs
indicated or suggested by their manufacturers. In the event that the indicated element
does not exist in the national market, the available technical similar must be used.

9.5.2 Drivers

9.5.2.1 When using multipolar conductors for a point load, the total sum of the cross-
section of all conductors must not be less than 4.5 mm² single phase and
7.5 mm² three-phase.

9.5.2.2 When an independent conductor is used for the protective earth, the minimum section
that it must have shall be calculated according to what is indicated in the ANSI / TIA /
EIA-J-STD-607 standard.

9.5.2.3 The conductors for powering the equipment inside a data center must be
halogen-free, flame-retardant and self-extinguishing, in compliance with the
provisions of point 5.5 of RIC N ° 04.

9.5.3 Protections

9.5.3.1 Inside the data center, the use of type A, type B differential protectors or
residual current monitor (RCM) will be mandatory.

9.5.3.2 For data centers where it is crucial that there is no power outage, there must
be equipment that monitors the electrical insulation of the facilities, or failing
that, there must be a residual current monitor (RCM), capable of detecting AC
and DC faults.

9.5.3.3 The data centers must have transient overvoltage protections in accordance
with the IEC 61643-11 standard and permanent ones in accordance with the
UNE-EN 50550 standard.

9.5.3.4 Grounding system for data center. The grounding systems of the data centers
must be designed based on the ANSI / TIA / EIA-J-STD-607 or UNE-EN 50310
standards.

9.5.3.5 Data center circuits must be protected by an electric arc fault detection device,
in accordance with the IEC 62606 standard.
