BACKGROUND
Business leaders and managers are frequently required to make presentations, conduct interviews etc. While some
are fluent speakers, others may encounter significant challenges in articulation and delivery. In Jamaica, due to our
cultural history, we have our unique set of challenges in pronouncing and articulating basic English speech sounds.

OUR OFFER
As part of our Speech Awareness and Articulation Workshops, Capacity Concepts Limited, in collaboration with Speaky
Spokey, offers business professionals the opportunity to obtain personalized training. No more than two (2) persons
are coached per session, in Speech Awareness & Articulation for Business, outlined as follows:

1. Diagnostic Session – the client’s speech habits & needs will be assessed to determine coaching needs and to
develop curriculum.

2. In-depth Speech Awareness and Articulation Coaching - where the client’s speech patterns, articulation habits,
intonation, enunciation and pronunciation practices will be analyzed, improved and corrected where
applicable.

3. International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) – though the use of the IPA the client will be introduced to the science
of speech, thorough step-by-step lessons that delve into how the articulators create English speech sounds.
This specialized linguistics knowledge will assist with re-training the articulators to produce English speech
sounds in the correct place and manner.

4. The art and skill of being a memorable interviewee - the client will be trained in:
a. Understanding the differences between visual and audio interviews
b. Developing and delivering the key message
c. Connecting with the audience
d. Interview preparation techniques
e. Handling nervousness
f. Projecting a confident image.
