Guidelines to Write the Internship Report

1. The contents of the report are as follows:


a. PREFACE
i. Front page
ii. Title
iii. Acknowledgement
iv. List of appendices (if necessary)

b. Chapter I INTRODUCTION
i. This chapter describes the purpose of the report and provides the
introduction to the tasks undertaken during the Internship Program.
ii. The following items are to be included in the report:
 The objectives of Internship Program
 Location of the company
 Positions and responsibilities assigned by the company
 Supervisors and individuals involved in the supervision

c. Chapter II COMPANY BACKGROUND


 Company name
 Company history
 Company objectives, vision and mission
 Company profile
 Company logo
 Company organization chart
 Services provided by the company

d. Chapter III REPORTING DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES / INVOLVED


PROJECTS DURING THE IP
 Activities/responsibilities carried out during internship
 Work process activities
 The new skills/technology acquired from company
 Problem solving tasks and methods of industrial training
 Please provide information in tabular form, diagrams and flow
charts if necessary

2. Report writing format


a. Paper
i. A4 size – 80gram
ii. Plain white

b. Font
i. Arial size 12
ii. 1.5 spacing
iii. Start each chapter in new page
iv. All the headlines must bold

c. Pages
i. Preface part must use roman numbering
ii. Front-page and each starting chapter

d. Binding
i. For binding purposes, a plastic cover should be put at the very front followed by
the title page. Another plastic cover should be put at the very end of the report.
ii. All reports must be bound using BLACK COMB BINDING.

CHAPTER II

COMPANY BACKGROUND

1.1 The background of DHU

The DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia (DHU) is managed by HICOM


University College Sdn Bhd (HUCSB), a wholly owned subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad.
ICAM was officially established on the 2nd of April 2010, upon receiving approval from The
Ministry of Higher Education.
As the largest fully integrated automotive corporation in the country, DRB-HICOM is
involved in every link of the automotive supply chain from the manufacture of automotive
components and assembly to distribution, after-sales support and vehicle inspection.
The companies under the Group’s automotive businesses have linked up with
international automotive players such as Audi, Honda, Isuzu, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Mercedes-
Benz and Volkswagen.
DHU serves two major roles, acting as a private college that produces a cadre of
skilled professionals and leaders to join the workforce for the automotive sector, and also
serving as an institution that enables the Group’s automotive workers to continuously
upgrade their skills and knowledge. DHU’s goal is to complement the automotive industry
through sustainable development of human capital.
By providing a continuous flow of trained and skilled workers to the Group’s
automotive businesses, DHU plays an active role in the Group’s vision of realizing the
nation’s aspiration of creating a knowledgeable and skilful workforce, as prescribed in the
New Economic Model.
