Diploma In Engineering

Diploma Engineering, a three year course is basically skill

oriented training, focusing on technical expertise and
engineering skills after 10th or 12th standard in various
engineering aspects which are important to function in a
challenging work environment. A student who has
completed the diploma is eligible to enrol for B.Tech
Programmes in the second year under a Lateral Entry
scheme. On successful completion of this course,
students can apply for jobs as Junior Engineer, Asst.
Engineer in various Private and Govt organisations. There

CIVIL ENGINEERING
Civil Engineering offers UG & PG programs. The Program
emphasizes on all the core areas of Civil Engineering like Design of
structures, Building, Bridges, Dams and other infrastructures. All
the programs are embedded with Industry Internship. This
department undertakes founded projects and consultancy
activities. It is also recognised as a Quality Control Consultant by
Odisha Mining Corporation. The Civil Engineering Department is
equipped with 08 numbers of State-of-the-Art Specialization Labs
among which the Geo-Technical Engineering Lab is recognised by
the Public Works Department (PWD), Govt. of Odisha.

AGRICULTURE ENGINEERING
Agricultural Engineering is the branch of engineering which
deals with the construction, design, and improvement of
farming equipment and Machinery. Agricultural Engineering
integrates technology into farming. It also tries to find solutions
for pollution control at large farms. This Department is amply
equipped with number of technically sophisticated labs.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
The Mechanical Engineering programs deal with the core
concepts like Mechanics, Kinetics, Thermodynamics,
Material Science Structural Analysis, Quality Control &
Reliability along with tools like Computer-Aided Design and
products life Cycle Management to design and analyze
manufacturing parts and Industrial Equipment. It is actively
involved with research and innovative work and also

ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING

The EEE program deals with the Electrical Power Generation,

Transmission and Distribution, Electrical Machines, Power

Processing and Communication. The Department is

Master in Business Administration (MBA)

Gift runs a two-year full time program in MBA with dual specialization. The Department of MBA focuses
on Personality Development, Skill and Competency Improvement, transcending the university
curriculum. Students are exposed to industry Professionals and Professors of elite B-Schools and
Universities. The topics are imparted with Case Study Method.

Master in Computer Application (MCA)

A two-year full time program in MCA is run by the college with major thrust on software design and

An Eco-friendly Solar charged car self designed &
l A collaborative project with SHIKSHA 'O' ANUSANDHAN developed by students of EEE Dept.
University, Bhubaneswar has been obtained under EOI of
National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO).
l A novel project on “Production & Properties of NALCO Alumina
Nano Fluid: A cost effective formulation and study of its stability”
is being undertaken by GIFT in collaboration with National
Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navaratna Company.
l A two day Research Council Meeting was held at GIFT focusing
on research activities and other related avenues of the students
and faculties in Research.
l A project for Chillika Development Authority (CDA) is under
taken to develop an Android & iOS based mobile app for tourists Prof. (Dr.) H.M. Duong of National University, Singapore, inaugurated
and researchers. the Bio-Gas plant, a student project, generating gas from Kitchen Waste
under the guidance of Prof. Amar Kumar Das.

Transcending Academics

Final year Mechanical Students of GIFT have designed a Hybrid

Solar Car, which was inaugurated by Vice Chairman of GIFT, Er.
Patitapaban Panda. The Vehicle has been tested under different
parametric conditions and accepted as a prototype to challenge
the contemporary vehicles. The Mayor of Bhubaneswar
Municipal Corporation, Mr. Ananta Narayan Jena interacted
with the students who created this Hybrid Solar Car and lauded
their efforts.

Students of GIFT won the First Prize and were awarded a cash prize
of Rs. One Lakh for achieving the top honour in the Grand Finale of
the Smart India HACKATHON-2017 in National Level Competition
held at Guwahati. The event was organized by AICTE, New Delhi.

Final year Mechanical Students, Mr. Swagat Singh and Mr.

Rudranarayan Sahu presented their paper titled "An Effective Solid
Waste Management and Disposal Strategy for Energy Security and
Environmental Sanitation" in the 33rd Convention of Mechanical
Engineers & National Seminar on "Advances in MEMS and
Robotics and Manufacturing Industries" at Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Ritesh Mohanty and Sovan Nandi have presented their technical

paper in The Indian Engineering Congress which was graced by
Shri Ram Nath Kovind (Hon'ble President of India). Shri Banwarilal
Purohit (Hon'ble Governor of Tamilnadu), Shri Thiru M C Sampath
(Hon'ble Minister for Industries, Govt, of Tamilnadu) also graced
this occasion in Chennai this year.

position in the National Level Robotics
Championship "ROBOFEST 2K17" heldatllT,
Roorkee.
