We use thermoplastics or thermosets for composite. For
carbon fibre reinforcement we use resin epoxy. We can use hybrid bio-based reinforcements to minimise the carbon footprints. These resin/epoxy are obtained directly from nature and then treated according to the required use. One of the common natural oil based epoxy resins are soyabean oil based epoxy. Biobased epoxy vitrimer from epoxidized soybean oil for reprocessable and recyclable carbon fiber reinforced composite. This Vitrimers can be used in place of non renewable synthetic epoxy. Physical properties is approximately as synthetic epoxy. Here the comparison is made between carbon fiber composite with permanent ESO thermoset ESO- DHM as a matrix. Against biobased epoxy vitrimer, ESO-VA.
