Q1: A channel section is subjected to a bending moment M= 2kNm oriented at an angle θ= 100 to
the z-axis. Calculate the bending stresses at points A and B, and determine the position of the
neutral axis. (The centroid C is located on the axis of symmetry ( z axis) at a distance of 2.14 cm
from DB). Iy = 197 cm4 ; Iz = 2690 cm4.

Q2: Determine the maximum tensile and compressive. The load is acting at centroid of the beam cross
section.
