Below you will find instructions on how to successfully create an Advanced Workbook.

The Advanced Workbook is a digital open-book form of exam, which is graded as an exam performance after
successful completion and documentation of all set tasks. The Advanced Workbook contains 6 tasks for writ-
ten elaboration based on the topics of the script, which are to be worked on independently and submitted
through Turnitin. The focus is on transfer of knowledge, the acquired knowledge in the script is to be used and
integrated. Answers require your own thinking, reasoned opinions and argumentation, or the application of
knowledge to specific cases or examples. The answers to the tasks should be given independently and in your
own words.

1. PROCEDURE
Please proceed following the exact steps below:

1. Click on the link of the workbook assignments on the myCampus course page to download the PDF doc-
ument to your laptop, PC, etc. Transfer the workbook tasks into a Word document and edit them. Make
sure that you observe the formatting requirements (see point 4). You can return to a task at any time dur-
ing the course to improve it or carry it on if you wish.

2. The answer to each task should have a length of 1500-3000 characters including spaces. In addition, a
cover sheet is to be prepared.

3. Once you have completed all the tasks, please create 1 PDF document.

4. Please name the entire file as follows: YYYYMMDD_Last name_First name_Matriculation number_Course
abbreviation (e.g.: 20181107_Smith_John_12345678_Samplecourse01).

5. Now upload the PDF document to Turnitin. You will find the instructions on myCampus in your course
under "Advanced Workbook". There you will also find out when you can expect the result of the exam.

6. After successfully uploading the whole file, you have done it!

7. After the assessment period, you will receive your grade and the information whether you have passed or
failed the course.

2. CITATION
An Advanced Workbook is script-based exam paper. Processing them requires one's own thinking, reasoned
opinions and argumentation, or the application of knowledge to specific cases or examples. The answers to
the tasks should be given independently, in one's own words and based on/using the knowledge acquired in
the course. Additional sources and special literature research are not necessary. However, if workbook tasks
are answered with additional literature, then these must be cited in accordance with the guidelines. Direct
quotations are to be avoided, however.

3. TIPS FOR WORKING ON ADVANCED WORKBOOK TASKS

You have completed the course script, answered the online questions for each lesson and you are ready to
work on the Advanced Workbook?

Below we would like to give you some guidance for your work. Deal with each workbook task individually and
proceed as follows:

1. Read the task carefully.

2. Consider calmly which theory(s), model(s) or relevant fact(s) from your course materials might be best
suited to answer the assignment.

3. Then check that you have understood the theory(s), model(s) or issue(s) by trying to explain them, for
example, to a fellow student, good friend or family member. If you are not yet sufficiently successful, use
the additional material available in the course (e.g. Shortcasts) for a better understanding.

4. As soon as the "core" of the theory(s), model(s) or issue(s) matching the task is clear to you, think about
an area of application from your professional or personal environment. Now transfer your thoughts and
your understanding of the topic to the task of the workbook assignment. First outline your solution to the
task in bullet points and then check whether it is comprehensible and whether your statements build on
each other. Only then formulate your answer.

5. Note: The answers to the tasks should be given independently, in one's own words and based on/using
the knowledge acquired in the course. Additional sources and special literature research are not neces-
sary. However, if you use additional sources in your research and discussion of the respective topic, then
these must also be cited in accordance with the guidelines. It must be clearly recognisable at which points
in the text the author's own conclusions and opinions are included and what is taken from additional lit-
erature.
