Professional Growth Plan

Strengthen my assessment strategies, focusing on formative assessment and


Goal 1: providing effective feedback.
- I found that during PSI I really struggled to keep up with my marking/
that assessment was something that got put on the back burner. I’d
really like to ensure that I am providing formative feedback for my
students in multiple forms
- I also would like to gain more experience when it comes to matters of
summative assessment. I hope to create my own tests/ quizzes and
reflect on what worked well with them and what didn’t

Strengthen and create community within the school and relationships with my
Goal 2: students.
- In both of my classes I’m struggling with having that sense of
community amongst peers but also between my students and I. We’re
having issues with students not wanting to participate in any kind of
discussion or refusing to work with their peers
- I also think this is an important area to focus on because I had a sense
of disconnect during my PSI because of covid protocols. My school
had us all separated into cohorts, and we stayed within those cohorts for
everything. So, I never really got to experience that type of community
within a school.
- After talking with my TM we also agreed that there is a definite
disconnect between students and the general community after covid. I
think that this will also involve looking at how we’re going to approach
cellphone issues.
