Laboratory 2 Data Sheet
Maximal Anaerobic Power Assessment

Anaerobic Treadmill Test Data

Subject: Caroline Mullineaux Sex: Female Age: 21 years

Weight: 156 pounds 71 kilograms

Treadmill Speed: 7.5 miles/hour 201.2 meters/minute

Treadmill % grade: 20

Total Test Time: 13.29 seconds 0.223 minutes

Formula to use:
Vertical distance = (% grade/100) x horizontal distance
Horizontal distance = treadmill belt speed (in meters/minute) x time (in minutes)
Work(w) = wt x [(% grade/100 x speed) x time]

Where wt is in kg, speed is in m/min, and time is in minutes

Power = w/time (in minutes)

w = 71 kg x (201.2 x 0.2 x 0.223) = 637 kgm

wt (in kg) % grade/100 speed (m/min) time (min)

w = 637kgm

P = 637 / 0.223 = 2857 kgm/min = 467 watts Work (kgm) time (min)
Wingate Anaerobic Power Test Data

Subject:Justin Patton Sex: Male Age: 29 years

Weight: 200 pounds 91 kilograms

Prescribed Force (F) setting: 8 kg

Distance/Pedal Revolution: 6

(watts)

For each 5-second interval, calculate the AP in kgm/5 sec as:

AP (in kgm/5 sec) = REVS in 5 sec x D/R x F

Where D/R is in meters (6 m/rev) and F is the force setting on the ergometer (in kg).
To convert to AP from kgm/5 sec to kgm/min and watts:
AP in kgm/min = AP in kgm/5 sec x 12
AP in watts = AP in kgm/min / 6.12

PAP (watts) = 1505.9 watts

PAP percentile ranking (table 1) = >95th percentile

Relative PAP = 16.55 watts/kg

Relative PAP percentile ranking (table 1) = >95th percentile

MAP (watts) = 598.03 watts

MAP percentile ranking (table 2) = 65-70% percentile

Relative MAP (watts/kg) = 598.03 watts / 91 kg

= 6.57 watts/kg

Relative MAP percentile ranking (table 2) = 20% percentile

FI (%) = [(PAP – lowest AP) / PAP] x 100

= [(1505.9 watts - 376.5 watts) / 1505.9 watts] x 100 = 75 percent

FI percentile ranking (table 3) = >95% percentile

Anaerobic Stepping Test Data

Subject: Madisyn Ramacciotti Sex: Female Age: 19 years

Weight: 139 pounds 63 kilograms

Step Height: 16 inches 0.41 meters

Number of completed steps in one minute: 46

w = force (kg) x (bench height/step (in meters) x total number of steps x 1.33)

= 63 kg x (0.41m/step x 46 total steps x 1.33)

wt (in kg) step height (m/step) total steps

= 1580.3 kgm

Power = w/time

P = 1580.3 kgm / test time (in minutes) – note this is always 1 min for this test

= 1580.3 kgm/min

= 258 watts (6.12)

Percentile rank (table 4) = 20%

Anaerobic Stepping Test Data

Subject: Lindsey Pazdziorko Sex: Female Age:22 years Weight:163.25 pounds 74.04 kilograms

Step Height: 16 inches 0.41 meters

Number of completed steps in one minute: 61

w = force (kg) x (bench height/step (in meters) x total number of steps x 1.33)

= 74.04 x (0.41 x 61 x 1.33)

wt (in kg) step height (m/step) total steps

= 2462.81 kgm

Power = w/time

P = 2462.81 kgm / test time (in minutes) – note this is always 1 min for this test

= 2462.81 kgm/min

= 402.41 watts (6.12)

Percentile rank (table 4) = 95%

Reflection: Write a brief reflection on what you learned during this lab.

In the maximal anaerobic power assessment lab, we learned the general testing protocol for the
anaerobic treadmill test, the Wingate anaerobic power test, and anaerobic step test. We also learned the
percentile rankings for specific performances completed by our group members. It was interesting to
observe and calculate the performance of the student athletes in our class.
