General Guidelines and Mechanics of Galaw Pilipinas (Students’ Category)

I. THEME/CONCEPT

Contestants shall be guided with the DepEd Guidelines on Galaw Pilipinas. The DepEd national
Calisthenics Exercise Program, which aims to (a) promote an active lifestyle for Filipinos that will
benefit both their physical and socio-emotional well-being; (b) improve strength, flexibility,
cardio-vascular endurance, coordination, and balance; (c) enhance cultural awareness by
integrating Philippine cultures in the calisthenics exercises; and inculcate nationalism, unity, and
discipline. For further details please refer to DepEd Order 060 s. 2021.

II. PARTICIPANTS

This contest is open to all bonafide Junior High School students of Tayug National High Shool.
There shall be only one (1) entry that shall represent each grade level with one (1) coach.

III. ENTRY SPECIFICATIONS


1. Each grade level shall have a minimum of fifty (50) students and maximum of eighty (80)
students.
2. Dance piece and Music is “Galaw Pilipinas Dance”
3. Participants shall wear any appropriate /comfortable attire such as jogging pants, shorts,
t-shirts, and rubber shoes.
4. Different formations are allowed but modification of Dance Steps is strictly prohibited.
5. Remix is not allowed.
6. The participants are also reminded to observe and follow minimum health standards
consistent with the guidelines from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) during rehearsals and
performance.

The contestants shall have the following requirements:


a. certificate of enrollment duly signed by the school principal or registrar
b. medical certificate issued by a Municipal/City/Provincial Health Officer/ Medical Officer; and
c. parental consent for learners.

IV. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING THE GALAW PILIPINAS CONTEST


a. In case of a tie, the Board of Judges shall convene to discuss and come up with a decision
and determine the winner.
b. The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable.
c. The details of the criteria for judging are specified in the table below:
