 ABSTRACT
A mobile news application, most commonly referred to as a news app, is a type
of news application software that runs on a mobile phone, such as a smartphone.
Mobile news applications available on android phones frequently serve to
provide users with news related to breaking news, international news and other
various genres. Android Apps are generally small in size, individual software
units with limited function. This use of software has been popularized by
Google play store, which sells thousands of applications for the smart phones.
The purpose of this document is to find that using android news applications
that are available on android phone and easily available on Google play store at
free of cost are good or bad for the mobile users. People are using this mobile
application for gaining current updates, breaking news and other purposes. But
the question is that these apps are really useful for the users.

 Introduction
The different Android-based phones have different graphical user interfaces
GUIs. Android phones come with various in-built applications and also
support third-party programs. People can easily download the news apps
from Google play store. Some news apps available on Google play store are
UC news, Google news, BBC news, Viral News. These are the most common
news applications downloaded by millions of users. These news apps have
both advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages of Android News Applications –

1. News applications are mobile mediums that users can use anywhere
anytime at free of cost. Users have an internet facility on his/her
mobile phones.
2. News apps are paperless and you don't need to handle the paper and
don't need to give any money for it.
3. Users can get up to date information related to social, political,
economical, cultural, and religious and leisure’s.
4. It saves money and time. Just click on the app and you will get all
the information.
5. You can search any day's news in just one click and save your time to
find the news easily.
6. It's the simplest process to read and access news.
7. You can carry your phone anywhere so whenever you want you can
keep updated yourself

Disadvantages of Android News application –

1. If you read news online its effect on your eyes and health.
2. Some rumors and news affect your health.
3. In the modern times cyber crimes are possible in online mediums.
4. Bulk of news are available that are rumors and negative.
5. News is from different sources, it’s not easy to believe this news.

Why do people read online news?

Past studies in this field of online news applications have shown that there
are some socio-technical advantages that have determined the adoption and
use of online news:
● It has no costs.
● Multitasking
● More and more news choices
● In-depth and background information
● 24/7 current updates information
● Customization
● Ability to discuss the news with other people
● The continuation of different viewpoints by users

Conclusion - The most important conclusion of this study is the fact that News
application users want current updates and entertainment news. Most of the
users believe that the applications are free of cost. They download and enjoy the
free services. Some health issues and negative impacts are there, but some
positive impacts are also there in the user's life. Some are using these apps
because of infotainment. Some believe it is the real source of entertainment.
Some believe the content is mostly fake and negative. The Positive impacts are
greater than negative impacts. The overall conclusion of the study is that
android news applications are both good and bad for the users.
