3. Abstract
Text – the original words of a piece of writing or a speech. Text has no
required length.

Narrative Text – are text that tells a story and it has a series of events.
Example Text:

Once a fox was roaming around in the dark. Unfortunately, he fell into a well. He
tried his level best to come out but all in vain. So, he had no other alternative but to remain
there until the next morning. The next day, a goat came that way. She peeped into the well
and saw the fox there. The goat asked, “what are you doing there, Mr. Fox?”

The sly fox replied, “I came here to drink water. It is the best I have ever tasted.
Come and see for yourself.” Without thinking even for a while, the goat jumped into the
well, quenched her thirst and looked for a way to get out. But just like the fox, she also found
herself helpless to come out.

Then the fox said, “I have an idea. You stand on your hind legs. I’ll climb on your
head and get out. Then I shall help you come out too.” The goat was innocent enough to
understand the shrewdness of the fox and did as the fox said and helped him get out of the
well.

While walking away, the fox said, “Had you been intelligent enough, you would
never have got in without seeing how to get out.”

Descriptive Text – these are the text that describe a person, place, animals or events.
Example Text:
An elephant is the largest and strongest of all animals. It is a strange looking animal which it
has thick legs, huge sides and backs, large hanging ears, a small tail, little eyes, long white tusks and
above all, elephant has a long nose, the trunk. An elephant is commonly seen in a zoo, it has hard
found in it natural habitat.

The trunk is the elephant’s peculiar feature. This trunk has various usages. The elephant draws
up water by its trunk and can squirt the water all over its body like a shower bath. The elephant’s
trunk also lift leaves and put them into its mouth. In fact, the trunk serves the elephant as long arm
and hand. An elephant looks very clumsy and heavy and yet an elephant can move very quickly.

The elephant is very intelligent animal. Its intelligence combined with its great strength makes
an elephant a very useful servant to man. Elephant can be trained to serve in various ways such as
carry heavy loads, hunt for tigers and even fight. An elephant is really a smart animal.

1) I have a close Friend. She is beautiful, attractive and trendy. She always want
to be a trend setter of the day. She always pays much attention on her
appearance. Recently, she bought a new stylist foot legs from blowfish
shoes products. This shoes really matches on her.
2) Long ago, in the Neverland, there lived a very beautiful princess, Snow White.
The Queen was her step mother. She was very jealous of her beauty, so she
wanted her to die.
Snow White knew about the evil plan. She escaped into a forest. There she
made friends with seven dwarfs and they lived happily.
Unlucky the evil queen knew that Snow White was still alive and lived in the
forest, so she went there to kill her. The Queen turned into a witch. But Snow
White did not realize it. The witch gave her a poisoned apple. As a result,
Snow White was put into sleep for years.
In the end, a charming prince came to see her and revived her with a kiss.
They lived happily ever after.
3) High in the mountains lived a prince whose great wish was to journey to the
moon, because he loved its gentle glow. His dream finally came true. When he

daughter.
The two young people soon fall in love, but the worlds they come was just too

story books, dictionaries and others. In big libraries we can go round and
choose books we want. Is small libraries we must ask the man in charge for
what we want. Do you know how to borrow a book from a library?
I believe it is not difficult. Don't forget to write the number and the name of
the author. After we sign the paper, then we hand it to the man is charge.
5) Along with the brown bear, the polar bear is one of the largest of the bear
species. The white fur that covers polar bears' bodies means that they are
sometimes referred to as "white bears."
Polar bears are strong swimmers, and it is said that they can swim for
distances of up to 65km, at a speed of 6.5km/h. They also have acute senses of
smell and hearing, useful when hunting as this allows them to detect the scent
of seals swimming beneath the ice. Polar bears are able to endure a lean diet
or periods of fasting, and can survive up to six months on only one seal.
