The document discusses student politics in Jashore Sadar Upazila, Bangladesh. It notes that the two main student political parties are Chatroleague, associated with the Awami League, and Chatrodol, associated with the BNP. Roll:24 Course name: Principles of political science Course code:112 Assignment topic: Student politics in my Upazila Assignment given by: Arifur Rahman Bhuiyan Assistant professor Department of Public Administration University of Dhaka What is Student politics?
Student politics can be referred to as the pupils’ political activities regarding
the arranging of the pupil’s body which affects the higher education institution, systems, and wider community.(Klemenčič and Park 2018) The history of student politics in Bangladesh Student organizations in our country have a long and glorious past. The students played a significant role starting from British rule to even after the Liberation War of 1971. (www.politicsgurukul.com) Over the years, student politics has changed a lot. Now it has spread through the division, district, and Upazila of Bangladesh having some ups and downs. The history of student politics in my upazilla Basically, there are two student political parties in my upazilla, Jashore Sadar. One is ‘Chatroleague’, and the other is ‘Chatrodol’ associated with the Awami League and BNP respectively. (Upazilla Chairman, Jashore Sadar) Though there are only two parties mainly Chatroleague and Chatrodol have a glorious past, they also have an unimpressive tradition with the conflict between themselves in terms of different idealism. (Upazilla chairman, Jashore Sadar) Structure
Jashore Sadar Upazilla Chatroleague consists of a secretary, a general
secretary, and a full-member committee. But due to some internal conflict, a change is inevitable in the coming days.(Upazilla Chairman,Jashore Sadar) On the contrary, Jashore Sadar Upazilla Chatrodol doesn’t have any committee or organizational structure like Chatroleague. Rather, they’re quite “Messy” in terms of structure but looking at sorting themselves out. (Upazilla Chairman,Jashore Sadar) Activities
Chatroleague and Chatrodol don’t have noteworthy activities in my Upazilla
except arranging meetings, and seminars. But often they engage in violence with each other for certain issues. (Upazilla Chairman, Jashore Sadar) My Opinion about student politics
I feel student politics should be banned permanently. It is ruining the life of
many meritorious students and the reason for the death of many innocents. Besides, student politics brought no good for the country in recent years by creating a toxic environment with violent students whereas we need skilled students for building up our country.
