Ways to Keep Your Lungs

Healthy and Whole

Don’t smoke or stop smoking

Smoking raises your chances of
developing lung cancer. However, it is
not the only condition it may induce.
Smoke use is associated to the
majority of lung disorders, including
COPD, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis,
and asthma.

Exercise to breathe harder

Aside from not smoking, taking
regular exercise is perhaps the
most essential thing you can do
for your lungs' health.

Avoid exposure to pollutants

Pollutants in the air can harm your
lungs and hasten your aging. Your
lungs can readily tolerate these
pollutants when they are young and
powerful.

Prevent infections
Infections are more hazardous to your
lungs as you become older. Those who
already have lung illnesses, such as
COPD, are especially vulnerable to
infections.

Breathe deeply
Take short breaths from your
chest, simply using a part of your
lungs. Deep breathing clears the
lungs and allows for complete
oxygen exchange.
