DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTIONS Remote Power Control (RPC) is ideal for the direct marketing of a PV system.
RPC is an open software interface from the blue’Log X-Series which communicates via the
physical Ethernet interface (RJ45) of the blue’Log. The communication protocol on which it is
based is Modbus TCP.

Via RPC, the feed-in power of a PV system can be remote controlled, e.g. for the purposes of
direct marketing. This occurs alongside the grid operator's grid feed-in management without
influencing its control commands. The data logger interprets the control signals, e.g. of the
direct marketer, via RPC and forwards these, prioritized accordingly, to the PV system. The
requirement having the lowest power level always has priority.

In addition, specific measured values and data can be retrieved via RPC, e.g. information
regarding the current specified target value and the specified target values of the grid operator
and the RPC interface. In accordance with legal requirements, meteocontrol also allows the
current actual feed-in figures to be called up via this interface for direct marketing.

uses the direct marketing system of energy & meteo systems GmbH,
ENERTRAG AG or Next Kraftwerke GmbH.

REQUIREMENTS
Licenses The Remote Power Control interface is enabled in the blue’Log via separate licenses which are
uploaded via the data logger's web pages.

The licenses are obtained on a one-off basis and are then permanently valid for the blue’Log
specified during the order procedure with its unique hardware serial number. Because these
licenses are allocated to specific devices, please ensure that you obtain a license for the
blue’Log configured as MASTER or STANDALONE on your system.

Licenses for various system sizes are available so that you can choose the right license for your
system power.

Network The PV system needs to have its own telecommunications network.

Grid feed-in management Grid feed-in management in compliance with EEG 2014 and the BDEW Medium Voltage
Directive must be provided via meteocontrol hardware.

VPN router In order to use Remote Power Control as a remote interface for direct marketing, a VPN-
(only necessary for direct marketing) capable router for establishing a secure data connection to the direct marketer is needed in
addition to the blue’Log.
